I had such a special stay at Hotel L'Auberge Punta del Este, it’s one of those places that feels personal from the moment you arrive. What I loved most was how calm and green everything feels. The gardens are beautiful and spacious, and I found myself spending a lot of time just enjoying the outdoor areas, whether by the pool or walking around without any real plan. It really invites you to slow down. The room had a French-style charm that made it feel cozy and comfortable at the same time, not overly modern, but warm and inviting, which I personally loved. And the food… definitely a highlight. The Belgian waffles fully live up to the reputation (I’d go back just for those), and the breakfast bar was amazing, generous, fresh, and something to look forward to every morning. I also had the chance to enjoy their barbecue, which made the experience feel even more complete. Overall, it’s a place with character, not just a place to stay. If you’re looking for something peaceful, charming, and a bit different from the typical Punta del Este hotel, I would absolutely recommend it.

We had a great time. The staff is very kind and always ready to help. The building itself is beautiful. This hotel has a lot of personality.

Wonderful stay at L’Auberge - a true oasis. The property is idyllic, with beautiful gardens impeccably maintained and beautiful architecture. The room was comfortable and quiet and everything decorated in great taste. The breakfast was delicious and lunch and dinner as good. We took long walks on the beach but did not swim because that is the rough side of the island. Bikes were also available. A short ride from the port and downtown shops. Best of all was the staff always warm smiling and eager to please. We loved our stay at L’Auberge and definitely recommend.

“A charming place with very many children”

This hotel is very well managed. The personnel is outstanding: friendly, helpful and paying attention to every detail. Ignacio is the perfect owner-manager and has everything under good control. This hotel is very well managed. The personnel is outstanding: friendly, helpful and paying attention to every detail. Ignacio is the perfect owner-manager and has everything under good control. The dinner in the restaurant is very good - although, when you stay for one week like we did, the menu never changes. Ignacio could well introduce a daily special during high season. The only thing that you need to know: from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. the hotel becomes a pilgrimage place for waffle lovers from the city and their (many) children. During this time, the hotel resembles a real kindergarten and the lovely grounds are overcrowded with playing children. Before 4 p.m. and after 8 p.m. the magic returns and this hotel wins back all its charm. The grounds are beautiful, like a true park, very well kept, and the pool is fantastic. So if the noise and the trouble between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. don't bother you: this is the best place in Punta del Este.
