“Beautiful views from balcony, spacious rooms”

Very nice luxury inn. Spacious bathroom. We stayed in a suite that had French doors separating the bedroom from a sitting area. The view from our balcony was breathtaking! Very nice luxury inn. Spacious bathroom. We stayed in a suite that had French doors separating the bedroom from a sitting area. The view from our balcony was breathtaking! Piano bar open each night til 10 which we enjoyed after we arrived back from the harbor. Self-serve coffee/tea/hot chocolate/water provided in the lobby at all hours. Pool was very nice. Close to the harbor, restaurants and shops where you could walk on a nice day. Not too far from Acadia National Park.

Decent Standard amenities: robes, toiletries, coffee maker, fridge for goodies 4. front desk staff, nice enough 5. Location a pleasant 1.5 mile walk to town (NOT .9). 6. Business Office: always open & very well equipped, desktops, printers, etc. Why the 3 Rating? 1. Dining options, NOT as advertised. 2. Happy Hour food choices: limited and old school 3. Fitness Center & indoor pool area, very, very shabby 4. Housekeeping Service: horrendous (did not even remove LABELED “please remove” trash), spent toiletries left 5. Decor: think the very worst of the 60’s Dusty pink, tragic florals, dark scratched, wooden furniture. Common areas suffer from the same super dated look, awful doors, still using keys 6. Value: you are paying TOP dollar, not worth the rates.

A lot of how you feel about a hotel depends upon the type of stay you expect. I selected this hotel because I wanted a full resort, which this hotel is. Think indoor/outdoor pools, fitness room, onsite bar and restaurant, onsite musical entertainment. Bluenose has all of that, which sounds great. The problem, is that nothing here looks up to date. I think they are going for "cozy" but most people do not think that a great room full of chintz and pink carpet with Chippendale reproduction furniture amounts to charm nowadays. The same pianist every night? I think they can shake that up too. My room was fine, although I feel overpriced. Again, the same decorating scheme as everywhere else, resembling a 1980s Sheraton hotel room. The other problem is that I was locked out of my room several times. This hotel uses actual keys (not key cards) and the lock to my room was very fussy. I was on the 4th floor, facing the harbor, so that was really nice. You cannot walk to town from this hotel and parking in town is really challenging. Overall, I would not stay here again. I would probably opt for something in-town and just walk everywhere, forgoing the "resort experience"

“Adequate hotel with inflated ratings”

Picked this hotel based on TA ratings and pictures. The lovely view restaurant and outdoor fire pits are only open for breakfast and lunch. Not open for HH or dinner… when the views would be amazing. The only real way into town is on the slow, crowded bus that only slightly adheres to the schedul… lisää

Picked this hotel based on TA ratings and pictures. The lovely view restaurant and outdoor fire pits are only open for breakfast and lunch. Not open for HH or dinner… when the views would be amazing. The only real way into town is on the slow, crowded bus that only slightly adheres to the schedule. Rooms are clean, decent sized and the staff is friendly. Over priced for proximity to town and food options on site are very limited.
