We stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding block, the hotel was just OK. There are two different buildings and most of our block was in the main building, but others were in a separate building which was a little disappointing since we booked months in advanced. We had a Studio, 1 Queen Bed with a Sofa Bed. The room was laid out so there was definitely enough space for our family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) The room was not as nice as it looked in the photos. There was no vent in the bathroom so it got really steamy, there was mold trapped in the layers of mirror and rust on the vent. The only mirrors in the room, were in the bathroom. The room itself wasn't super clean, there were cobwebs on the light fixtures and there were stains on the comforter/bedding. My 8YO daughter slept on the pull out couch and said it was comfortable. The breakfast is free, options were cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, DIY waffles, bagels and muffins and hot food like oatmeal, sausage and eggs all pretty basic. As a group we did end up using the grill out on the patio, which was nice, but we were giving a little bit of an attitude when we asked to use it (even though it is an additional amenity to guests). One plus side is it was close to the airport (about 7 min.) and not too far from downtown Raleigh.

I'll be honest and just say that I expected more from a Marriott Towneplace Suites. I knew it wouldn't be extravagant, but for the price, I was expecting more. I'll be honest and just say that I expected more from a Marriott Towneplace Suites. I knew it wouldn't be extravagant, but for the price, I was expecting more. Let me start by saying that there were no major problems during the stay. The staff that we saw was very nice, but the only time we saw any staff was at check in and check out. There are two separate buildings, so check-in was in one building and our room was in the other, with a parking lot between. There is very little signage for the hotel. It was very difficult to see any signed of the hotel from the road. After eventually finding it from the road, there were no signs pointing to the entrance, except for a small "Welcome" sign that was hidden by all of the vehicles. The security lock to the door in our building did not work and the door was completely unlocked so that anyone else could walk in. The first floor of our building smelled like weed the whole time we were there. The room was comfortable. The beds were very nice. The living area was very small. Again, not a big deal, but for the price they charge, I expected more. The entire place needs some TLC, sofa and carpet is very outdated. Refrigerator had dent in the door and the burners on the stove were not property sitting on the stove. There was a sock on the steps that I saw when we checked in, and it was still there when we checked out the next morning. It was mostly quiet, except the group above us must have been jumping around, we could hear them until about 11:30 one night. I don't want to paint this place as being awful, because it wasn't awful. I don't think I would stay again, unless I was in a pinch. Mostly, when I pay what we paid to stay, I expected a little more. Just also note, there was not much around the hotel as far as restaurants, etc. For me, it wasn't a big deal, but you're not within walking distance of much, at least not that I could see. Again, it wasn't awful. You could do MUCH worse, but for the money, you could probably do better too.
