Great hotel in excellent central location, very close to rlverwalk, river cruise, magnificent mile, milenium park, etc. We walked everywhere, including to Navy Pier. “Great for openminded people”

Super location. Clean and functional. Trendy and techy. I'm no more young and some stuff put me out of my comfort zone. After a long flight it would be helpful to find what you could expect as seen elsewhere.

Love the size, the snug bed, the room controls and automation! This size (with corresponding lower price) is of great interest to me, but there was a big problem: the shower. Love the size, the snug bed, the room controls and automation! This size (with corresponding lower price) is of great interest to me, but there was a big problem: the shower. By the time I was done showering, the entire bathroom was flooded, not just the shower stall. The bathroom has a lip at the door, and fortunately not enough water pooled to get above the lip, but yikes! For $400/night (some big event was happening) that wasn't acceptable. More complaints about the shower: user chooses between a rainfall overhead or a handheld, but the handheld has a stiff, unarticulated hose, making it very difficult to use. Love the design, except for the impractical shower.

This place is not for everyone. The best way to describe it is a high class backpacker's hostel. The rooms are the size of a dorm room. The bed is flushed against the walls on 3 sides like a loft. I was traveling by myself but if you are with a partner, one would have to crawl over the other to get out of bed. There are no coffee pots or iron in the rooms. To get a cup of coffee or hot drink, you have to go down to the 4th floor to purchase it. Good luck if want something to drink before you get dressed in the morning. In fact, they do not even provide a cup in the room for you to brush your teeth. You get a cup by going down to the 4th floor canteen. Having said all of that, there are some kudos for the hotel. First, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The guy at the check in offered me a refund if I wanted to cancel my reservation. I was very impressed by that. Second, the place is brand spanking new and pristine. This is the first priority for me in any place that I stay. Third, the bed tucked into the wall was cozy! It reminded me of a nice nook in a house. Bottom line is that this place is perfectly ok if you come in prepared for the "barebones, do-it-yourself, eco-conscious" concept.
