We wanted to give the Broadmoor 5/5 but there were a few little things that shouldn’t happen at a 5 Star resort. First, check in was seamless. We were shown to our room and given lots of info about the property, activities, etc. We were in a premier room in West building. We tried most of the restaurants and found the food to be quite good. Nod to Penrose halibut and muddled potatoes as favorite dish. What wasn’t so good was all the tableside services at Penrose - cesear salad, cantaloupe and prosciutto, dessert - it was all a little distracting. There was also an under 1 yo baby making itself known nearby. We are not anti child, but for a restaurant to require jackets, it seems like children would not be seated front and center. We followed the dress code provided in our itinerary. It was clear other folks did not - especially for the Sunday brunch. Everyone asks for your phone number and you get texts for everything. It was too much. We booked our trip very early and our golf reservations were switched many times. We did receive consideration for that, which we very much appreciated, but for our final round our cart was set to cart path only. We are from the east coast and not used to walking golf Courses at altitude. That made our final round less enjoyable. The cart actually locked up right in the middle of a planned event and while it was embarrassing, there was nothing we could do to move the cart. When you’re paying top $$ for golf, you don’t expect that experience. One other day they only had one of our clubs on the cart and they had to search for my clubs. Again, it was very clear through our confirmed email communication that we were a golfing couple. On a positive note, the practice facilities and courses were in fantastic shape. We have seen others complain about the 20% automatic service fee. That’s what happens when you have people who don’t tip. We Didn’t mind that. We also loved the spa. Our providers were fantastic and we loved the spa amenities. Not sure why anyone on the resort decided to go to the pool on a Monday but we were offered chair towels and we could lay on the ground. We declined. We did find 2 open chairs but it just seemed kind of callous to say go lay on the ground. But all in all we had a great time and will return.

“Wonderful experience pool hours need to be expanded”

The Broadmoor is an absolute wonderful experience. Everything is dialed in the staff,the spa activities everything is great. The only reason I don’t give this a five star experience is because the pool closes at 7 PM which is way too early for young children. And there’s not much for them to do a… lisää

The only reason I don’t give this a five star experience is because the pool closes at 7 PM which is way too early for young children. And there’s not much for them to do at the resort when the pools closed and the bowling loudly is closed as well. This would be the only feedback I would provide otherwise everything is fantastic

“Historic beauty, but so overpriced.”

I stayed here as part of a President's Club trip with my husband's company. As a Travel Advisor, who does travel a good bit I was excited to stay at this historic hotel. I stayed here as part of a President's Club trip with my husband's company. As a Travel Advisor, who does travel a good bit I was excited to stay at this historic hotel. My first impression was that it was grand and had beautiful old luxury. Check-in was convenient, and while our room wasn't ready, she did get us all set up for a quick text message later in the afternoon. The bellman was lovely, we had a gentleman who had worked here for a long time from Jamaica "Mon" and he gave us a great overview of the property. You could tell he took great pride in the property's history and his job with them. I would have preferred to stay here in better weather, to be able to enjoy the pool and water activities, but we didn't get to choose the time of the year for the trip. The room was comfortable, lots of space, comfortable bed and amenities. We were in a Superior room with great views but unfortunately didn't have a balcony. Housekeeping while they seemed to always be in the room when we wanted to come back in from a long day, was maybe a bit short staffed when large groups would come/go, but our room felt clean. My largest complaint was the food & beverage here. Everything is immediately slapped with a 20% gratuity charge. Even just grabbing a bagel & coffee, which would cost over $20. Grab a water, 20%, same on a glass of wine. I just found it to be excessive on already overpriced things, and especially annoying when service was slow and not great at dining and bar venues. We didn't eat any larger meals here outside of our events except lunch at the Golf Club which was nice on both occasions. Breakfast brunch we noticed was $110/pp before the 20% .... We had an event at their onsite lodge, which was very nice, food was great. My Spa was disappointing. It was an inclusion in my trip, but I knew what it cost and definitely wasn't worth it. I did enjoy the oxygen room though! Guest services were very efficient, as were the main bellman helping with some laundry and local shopping. Overall, it was okay. It's not a place I'd run back too but would also be along with the destination. Just very overpriced for all the extras.
