“Beautiful hotel in lovely location”

Beautiful, elegant hotel, a lovely surprise. We only booked one night as we were on a driving trip around New England. What a lovely surprise, the only downside was that it was so very hot and there wasn’t a pool. We couldn’t fault beautiful room and great service from staff.

Our stay at Litchfield Inn CT August 7th - August 11th My daughter, granddaughter and myself stayed at the Litchfield Inn while on our “Gilmore Girls” vacation. We picked the Litchfield Inn due to the proximity to all of the places we wanted to visit on day trips. I mentioned this at the time of booking and they had a list of places for us to visit when we checked in , a first of many nice touches the Inn offered. We also received the chocolate chip cookies that all of the reviews mentioned. And yes, they were as delicious as everyone says! Our room was extremely neat and clean. There was a cot set up for the third person in our group. It was super comfortable ( I can attest because I am the one that used it)and bottles of water, both at no extra cost. They also provide robes and slippers in case anyone forgot theirs. The next nice touch , was the breakfast ( included at no charge) each morning. There were so many options ( eggs any way, pancakes, yogurt parfaits, toast, bagels, sausage and many more!!! )However, I chose the omelette each day. These were made fresh to order and were delicious! Also a nice plus, was the tea, coffee, water, soda, chips and cookies that were offered 24 hours a day , again at no cost. If you were looking to sit outside, there is a patio with two fire pits and plenty of chairs to either sit and relax or get to know the other guests. We did both!! Further onto the lawn, there were games like corn hole and ladder toss. A pool was supposed to be open by the time of our visit, but delayed until next year. Even further out, there were chairs to just sit quietly and listen to the birds. We took advantage of all of these amenities Back inside for the evening, we enjoyed sitting in the common area. There were plenty of seats for either groups to gather or you were able to sit quietly. On the day we were leaving, we were running a little late for the 11 o’clock check out, so we called the front desk and they extended our time until noon. This was also given at no cost. While I am sure that they are not always able to offer this, it was greatly appreciated. There were a couple of things that I felt should have been mentioned, but neither were enough to make me lower my rating of my stay. The first being a wedding and reception that took place during our stay. Due to this, the outside amenities were not available ( until the following day) as were the common areas ( this was only for a few hours). Again, not enough to make me not want to recommend the Inn, but I feel this should have been mentioned at time of booking ( or at the very least at check in) Secondly, the elevator is not in use during night hours. While everyone in our group were able to use the stairs, I feel like this is also something that should be posted. I would give the Litchfield Inn 5 stars and would definitely stay again in the future.

“Wedding Accomodations”

We had my daughter's wedding at a venue in the area. As many of our guests as the Inn could accomodate stayed at the Inn and everyone loved their rooms. They also hosted the Rehearsal Dinner which was great, an "after-party" for people to wind down, and the made to order omelettes (and more) the … lisää

We had my daughter's wedding at a venue in the area. As many of our guests as the Inn could accomodate stayed at the Inn and everyone loved their rooms. They also hosted the Rehearsal Dinner which was great, an "after-party" for people to wind down, and the made to order omelettes (and more) the morning after the wedding topped off a great weekend. They were even able to provide our guests who stayed at Air BnBs in the area with breakfast too. Syed and his team were great to work with and very responsive to our changing guest list and room changes up to the last minute. Truly a great experience and could not have been happier.

“Wonderful Inn BUT....”

I wish I could give The Litchfield Inn 5 stars. This is the 2nd time we have stayed there, and we will certainly stay again but not in the last room we had. I wish I could give The Litchfield Inn 5 stars. This is the 2nd time we have stayed there, and we will certainly stay again but not in the last room we had. We stayed in the Standard Double Queen room this time as it was the only option available at the time of booking. Although the room is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, there was constant noise above us. It took 2 days to recover from a lack of sleep from the noise on the 2nd floor. I informed the front desk and they said it must be that the guests above are heavy walkers. It was actually the housekeeping room where they keep the washers and dryer and the rolling carts. The constant rolling of the carts, footsteps and closing and opening of the washers and dryers was quite exhausting. On a good note, the property is charming, beautiful and really well run. They have corn hole outside, and an abundance of games like connect four that you can play in there common room. In addition, the Gathering Room was always freshly stocked with chocolate chip cookies, chips, water, and soda. We are looking forward to our next stay just not in the same room.
