We had a wonderful experience at The Lucie! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing stay with stunning views, this is the place to be. Both the guest rooms and the hotel common areas were immaculate and perfectly designed. Highlights of my stay: * The Perks: Don’t miss the complimentary champagne at check-in—it’s a lovely touch! Also, make sure you're around for the 5:00 PM cookies; they are delicious. * The Location: The views are incredible, and having a fantastic restaurant right next door made dining incredibly convenient. * The Atmosphere: Everything was seamless, peaceful, and well-maintained. My kids love it here and so do I. We ran into an issues with our resort booking at another property, which I will review and it’s horrible, and the Lucie had no problem accommodating us last minute on NYE! Steve at the front desk is the best. He gave us such a great room with a wonderful walkout patio to celebrate new years. He is absolutely amazing and really truly enjoys helping people and making their experience wonderful. He even gave my kiddos some ice cream and sand toys. After what was very upsetting and stressful as Island Beach Resort Steve was able to turn it all around and my kids and I were able to enjoy a happy new year. The bartender that night was amazing as well. She was so kind to my kids and just a sweet lady, made our night even better! I will say it again but do not book anywhere else this is the place and ask for Steve!

“Talk about upscale this is it!”

Wonderful, this place has it all. The staff are wonderful, accommodating and very professional. The rooms are beautiful the view every single detail is upscale.

We are loyal to the Opal Collection brand and wanted to see how The Lucie was compared to its sister hotel down the street, the Hutchinson Resort. This is a "no frills" hotel that has been nicely updated and conveniently located next to an excellent steak and seafood restaurant as well as across the street from an equally excellent Italian restaurant. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were excellent. It was a quiet weekend so hard to determine how the service is during a busier time, but we appreciated the same service quality that all Opal Collection hotels seem to provide. The price we paid for this time of year (in season) was unusually reasonable (in the lower range) and do not know if that is typical. But if it is, The Lucie is a steal so long as you are not looking for higher-end resort amenities. There is a pool which is nice and beach access. There is a Tiki Bar with lunch bites. We decided to bring own own beach chairs and umbrella which worked out for us as the vendor for the hotel seems to set up shop in an awkward location on the south side of the hotel rather than where the beach access actually is. There is no dinner restaurant on-site but lunch is available by the pool. A more robust breakfast is served in the small cafe downstairs each morning. Steven at the front desk could not have been nicer or more hospitable and his recommendations of local food and amenities was spot on. Overall, will definitely go back for when we want to just chill on the beach without crowds.
