“Budget-friendly, funky little motel with great pool”

So, our VRBO host unexpectedly cancelled us the day of arrival in Key Largo. We went through Expedia and found this budget-friendly motel. So, our VRBO host unexpectedly cancelled us the day of arrival in Key Largo. We went through Expedia and found this budget-friendly motel. OK there are reasons why they charge less - old rooms not esthetically lovely (carpet and walls worn out). As mentioned too, the "breakfast" is just weak coffee and packaged danish. We went to a Cuban bakery nearby as an alternative. BUT that being said, we enjoyed our stay! Clean overall, cute grounds and wonderful pool, shower was hot and worked well, and we found the staff super-friendly (Miriam and another lady). The location is central to anything you'd need. We actually would stay here again!

I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times. I find the rooms to be decent, with no unusual odors, and no major issues other than there are some signs of wear. I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times. I find the rooms to be decent, with no unusual odors, and no major issues other than there are some signs of wear. Given that this hotel is one of the least expensive places to stay in the Florida Keys, I think that's a reasonable trade off. There is some traffic noise but most hotels are subject to that in the Keys because there isn't all that much real estate on each side of the only road that passes through the Keys. Suggested improvements: Breakfast is included but it's nothing more than prepackaged pastries, yogurt, and coffee. Wifi in the room is intermittent, often I need to wait a minute or two just to load an email and streaming a movie is possible but somewhat impractical as the page needs to be reloaded several times during a 45 minute episode. That much said, for what it costs, it's a good deal. If want a pristine room, a big breakfast, and fast internet, feel free to pay almost double the price. To me, this place is a good deal.
