I was at the Courtyard in Buford Georgia for four night business related trip. They are currently remodeling the hotel. Although I noticed the construction crew there I never heard any sound. Upon initial check-in I received a room on the 4th floor. Once I get up there the air conditioning unit was buzzing so badly I called down to the front desk where they reassigned me a room on the 5th floor. That one was also redesigned. It has a nice new contemporary look with grays and dark blues. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I will point out a few issues with the room that has more to do with the designers of the remodel then it does with the hotel staff. The room has a brand new big TV that tilts and swivels in the king size room so you can watch from either the couch or the bed, that was nice. Firstly, the couch. They switched from the old half Moon ones that used to be in the room to a new contemporary design. It is a smaller couch and is considerably more uncomfortable to relax in. Again, this is the designers making those calls without actually staying in the room. Additionally the new table that they provide for the couch doesn't actually move in like the other one did so it's actually a little inconvenient to set anything on it when you're trying to relax on the couch. Secondly, the TV is nice having a large tv. But from a person that needs to work from the hotel, the desk is attached to the wall right under the TV, unlike other mid-range hotel rooms where the desk moves. The problem with this is if you want to be on the computer and have the news on the TV in the background or whatever, that 65-in TV is right above your head there is no way you would enjoy having that on while you are working. Also, if you bring takeout food back to your room, without a movable desk, there is nowhere very comfortable to eat and watch TV. Another designer issue. Force the designers to stay in the room for a week and then make the changes. It all looks really nice but the functionality is not great. The new bathroom was nice however the hot water was slow in coming to the fifth floor. And even when it came it was warm enough for me, but if you really enjoy a very hot shower, I would suggest not going to the fifth floor. Also one of the designer flaws is the mirror in the bathroom. From an aesthetic standpoint it's pretty nice, The mirror has backlighting. So it's a really contemporary look. Functionality-wise? Lousy! There's not enough light to shave there and there's not enough light I am guessing for women to put on makeup. Also no where in the room was a full length mirror. I highly suggest getting a room as far from the elevator as you can. Both elevators make a loud clanging noise when they first move and then stop on a floor. I assume that the rooms that are right next to the elevator can hear this clanging as it is quite loud. If you're going to remodel the hotel, why not fix the air conditioning units in the elevator. However, maybe that's down the road as they were not completely done with the hotel. Overall, the staff was very nice, the bed was comfortable, the variety of pillows was nice, the big TV on a swivel was nice, I ate dinner at the restaurant in the lobby and that was okay, and finally it was nice being in a newly designed room. The flaws aren't something that will stop me from revisiting. Just know before you go :-)

I stayed at this hotel in March 2025 for a 10 day business stay. The hotel is located just off from the hustle and bustle of the Mall of Georgia area but close enough to be within walking distance of a choice of shops and restaurants. The hotel was clean and so was my room. The only issues I had with my room was the Aircon was way too powerful when it was turned on and the room was either freezing cold or hot. This is the reasom for the 4 stars. I did not try the hotel restaurant hence unable to comment. One of the disadvantages of the location is that the traffic at the weekend can get quite intense because of the shoppers coming to the Mall of Georgia. Overall a pleasant stay.

I was a guest of the hotel over the weekend, visiting family in the area. First, I would like to say that the staff is very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure interacting with them. But, the room was quite dirty. It smelled of mold which was visible in the shower and I am not sure when the carpet had last been vacuumed. It was filthy. Animal hair was left on our clothing after sitting on the furniture and we did not travel with a pet. I hope the hotel can find a path to better cleaning.
