“Good Choice for ECU Medical Center”

We spent 5 nights at this Marriott during a difficult stay for a family member in the hospital. First - the staff is amazing. The front desk was helpful and patient as we worked our way through the days. I could not single out one front desk person because everyone was great. Actually, all staff we encountered was professional and polite. This Residence Inn is a very short drive to the huge ECU Medical Center. There is another Marriott, perhaps a Courtyard, also near ECU Medical (almost within walking distance) - but if you want a 1 or 2 bedroom, this Residence Inn is a good choice. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, cutlery, etc. Full fridge with ice maker. Same as all Residence Inns. Beds were fine. A/C great. We were on the backside of the hotel and there were no noise issues. Ample parking. The complimentary breakfast is typical fare, but you will find something to eat. Plenty of choices, hot and cold. Other than that, you'll have to drive or order delivery for food for meals. (The bar serves a very small uninteresting menu). They do try to keep coffee available in the lobby. The lobby lounge is spacious with tv's and there is a "pantry" for snacks, bottled drinks and a few sundry items. Our room was clean, but showing its age. Nothing too major, but they need to clean the severe stains on the carpeting. We were in two suites and this was the case in both. All in all - a good choice.

“Decent Choice”

This is a decent property. Although an older property, it’s clean and comfortable.The a/c won’t blast an arctic wave but cools enough. No a/c in the hallways. Elevators are a little slow. The beds and pillows were comfortable, which is probably the most important aspect. There are no USB outlets. Zero. In this day and time, I’m surprised but my fault for not packing my adapter. The breakfast is sufficient with a normal selection. The shower is in the tub and yet to be upgraded to a walk-in. The staff is very nice. There is a Jimmy John’s across the street but will need a car for anything more. It is very close to the ECU hospital.

“Good but used to be Great”

This hotel has been my go to for years when visiting Greenville. Nice staff, free parking, good location and nice rooms (even though shower/toilet area is very cramped), that is until this last visit. This hotel has been my go to for years when visiting Greenville. Nice staff, free parking, good location and nice rooms (even though shower/toilet area is very cramped), that is until this last visit. Lobby is nice, furniture looks good in public areas but my room had stains on carpet and ottoman, cabinetry dinged and beaten up, lamps that didn’t work, old small TVs, furniture showing wear. Hotel is starting to show its age and they need to step up their game. Charging $200 plus for a room, should have a nice one. It’s the little things that matter and with competition growing daily in Greenville, time to start some updating. May try the Homewood Suites across the street next time, newer hotel, similar in price with free parking, bfast just like Residence Inn.
