I wanted to STAY! For a long time, not just a night. This is a gorgeous place to relax. And, the photos of the rooms are accurate. It feels like the property has received a recent facelift. We walked in without a reservation and were given an excellent room on the 2nd floor, overlooking the river and the ocean. And it was quiet! The sliding door gave us access to a sweet little balcony where you can sit and enjoy the soothing sound of the foghorn. Though it was a bit chilly for this Florida girl, I sat with my morning coffee for quite some time, enjoying the waves and the birds. We loved the little gas fireplace, which we used for only a few minutes. The ambiance was nice. The towels were of fine quality; the lighting in the bath and vanity areas was great. They've thought of everything. The room felt like someone's home, with "real" furniture and decor, not stock hotel stuff. What a difference it makes! The bed was one of the best on our trip, which is now about 3 weeks' worth of moving to a new place every night. This property made me want to stay awhile. The grab-and-go breakfast was fun. You choose from a selection of breakfast items perfect for traveling. Other notes: Great shower, wonderful linens, pleasant and helpful staff. One less-than-perfect note: The stairways are mandatory. Dragging luggage was a pain, but overall, it was well worth it.

This is a lovely place to stay in Fort Bragg. It overlooks the Noyo River and the Pacific Ocean. It is relaxing to be able to watch the gorgeous sunset from the room’s balcony. Our room was clean and spacious. It had cozy seating and a gas fireplace. You can definitely hear the fog horn which is loud and repetitive. However the sound was not so noticeable with the sliding door closed. They do provide ear plugs for guests who are light sleepers. There is no elevator, so please be sure to request the first floor if you have mobility issues. They do have a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Additionally they have plates with some silverware in the room. There are also bathrobes. They do offer a convenient grab-and-go breakfast which includes breakfast sandwiches (including vegan choices) that you can bring back to your room to microwave. Overall this is a solid place to stay while in Fort Bragg.

I usually do not write reviews but wanted to give my opinion on this hotel. Its location is right off Highway 1 so the location is not ideal. I usually do not write reviews but wanted to give my opinion on this hotel. Its location is right off Highway 1 so the location is not ideal. The view from the rooms is over an inlet next to the highway overpass so there is noise and the view is not as scenic as pictured in their ad. There is also a constant foghorn noise and for that they leave earplugs in the bathroom. There is no air conditioning at all and if the temperature is over 70F, the sun will heat up room necessitating using a fan at night that they leave in the closet. The furnishings are somewhat beat up and need to be refreshed as does the carpet. As one commenter mentioned, the front desk staff is young and unprofessional and could hardly even inform how to turn on the TV which had 2 controllers and was complicated, let alone give directions over the phone how to find the hotel as the GPS was unclear. There is no elevator to the rooms so if you have a heavy suitcase, you must be in shape to climb stairs. Overall, this is 3 stars and I would like others to understand in advance what they will be paying for.

“Nice room, beautiful view, chilly staff”

We booked a superior King suite with Jacuzzi tub. Definitely worthwhile and we felt the price was reasonable. Room was clean, tub worked fine, and the view out the window was spectacular. We booked a superior King suite with Jacuzzi tub. Definitely worthwhile and we felt the price was reasonable. Room was clean, tub worked fine, and the view out the window was spectacular. However, high noise level (loud foghorn, traffic whizzing by) and staff was chilly and apathetic, like you'd expect from a cheap dive motel rather than one of the nicer hotels in town. If the staff were warmer and more relaxed, it would really do a lot for the hotel. Still, I might stay there again under the right circumstances.
