We came up to spend Thanksgiving with my sister who lives in Gilroy. We needed a hotel that allowed dogs because Cako goes everywhere! I booked a two bedroom suite and by the time we got to the property, we got the last one. This Residence Inn is smaller than ones I've stayed at in other cities, only three floors. It is tucked away which offers some peace and quiet. The room was perfect! We each had our own rooms and I could snore as much as I wanted without disturbing anyone..LOL! The kitchen came in handy and the heater was great! It is located near an industrial area which allowed Cako and I to go for long walks. We ate breakfast on Thanksgiving day, and they had turkey sausage..LOL! Scrambled eggs and prepackaged muffins. I do have to agree with one other reviewer, it was the same breakfast each day. The woman working didn't seem to happy. But all the other workers, front desk especially, were very friendly! They do charge for parking and there are spots in front of or in back of the property. Cako Approves!

“Standard Residence Inn (it is what it is)”

This is a standard Residence Inn. We had an issue with our original room which was rectified by the front desk. The first room smelled foul. It was a disabled room so maybe somebody had an accident and it wasn't cleaned properly but either way, it stunk. Also, it was just me and my 11 year old … lisää

This is a standard Residence Inn. We had an issue with our original room which was rectified by the front desk. The first room smelled foul. It was a disabled room so maybe somebody had an accident and it wasn't cleaned properly but either way, it stunk. Also, it was just me and my 11 year old daughter so we certainly didn't request that type of room. I thought the room would air out so I gave it an hour but multiple trips in and out didn't help so I finally went to front desk. They were helpful and gave me a different room to look at which smelled fine so we switched. We were there for a soccer tournament and the hotel offered space for the parents to socialize and a sport court and indoor pool for the kids. Security is an issue as there are homeless in the surrounding area. In fact, the hotel allowed access to a bum in the middle of the night who subsequently was arrested onsite after trying to access a room (one of our soccer families). Anyway, this is not my preferred brand among the Marriott portfolio but is in general a good middle of the spectrum choice that is affordable to all. The breakfast was awful as is to be expected so I went elsewhere. Kids didn't seem to mind. Plus they only had one waffle maker for the entire hotel so the line for waffles, themselves was pushing 25 minutes. If we end up in another tournament in this area and the team manager books us here I won't complain but I also would not choose to stay here on my own. The security issues and the foul smelling original room are the reasoning behind the 3 "star" experience.
