I stayed here not realising there are two Home2 Suites in Sacramento. My colleague stayed at the one on 65th street. However, I found the staff friendly and the room the same as my colleague's on 65th street. Lights on PIR so kept on turning off. Compact kitchen with microwave and fridge. Breakfast was identical. I enjoyed my stay even though I had to get up early to catch the tram to 65th street each day. However, the city centre is just a 20 minute walk across the Tower Bridge. There are nice riverside walks and a nearby strip-mall. Although next to the Civic Centre, the area appears a little run-down with cheap motels and an RV park very close by. Good to know is that there is a charge for parking (I arrived by Amtrak - 30 mins walk through historic Sacramento). Public transport is a little messed up as there are two transport companies ... Yolo Transport (W Sacramento) and Sacrt (Sacramento) and they need separate tickets. Best to use the Scart App and get a day pass ($7) which seems to work both sides of the bridge.

The staff at the Home 2 Suites were incredibly nice, but the overall experience was disappointing. First of all the bed. We’ve been in hotels around the world and never got stuck with a double bed. A double bed for two full sized adults! Next parking. I thought we were in Vegas or some fancy resort… lisää

A double bed for two full sized adults! Next parking. I thought we were in Vegas or some fancy resort when we were charged $16.50 a night to park our car! The pool. The website say “heated pool”, but alas it was ice cold. The manager said the heater recently broke and a new one was on order. I call ”BS”! This is peak vacation time and the hotel was full. You need spend some money and heat the pool. Lastly maid service. There was no mention at check-in that the rooms were cleaned every other day! We were only there two nights, soooo we had to use towels that had been thrown on the bathroom floor. Bottom line, spend a little more and stay somewhere else.
