“Great size room, clean, and great location”

The pros definitely outweighed the cons of this place for us. We stayed here as a family of 5 for 5 nights. We stayed here as our home base for a trip exploring in and around San Francisco. We were pleasantly surprised with the location. Close to Target and lots of restaurants. The room was exactly what we hoped for with 3 kids- living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The closet in one of the bedrooms was large and helped keep clutter away. The room was clean. We enjoyed the hot tub each night (and the kids went in the heated pool). Breakfast was a little different each day, which was nice. Good coffee with a few creamer options, which made me happy. We were disappointed they never had bacon any of our 5 breakfasts, but we did had ham, chorizo, and sausage. Bagels also. The pancake machine was fun for the kids- although it wasn’t out the last two mornings and they had eggos instead. Our only negatives were the beds were very hard. Like I was in pain rolling over 😂. Also, not having elevators was a surprise! We were on the third floor and had to carry lots of suitcases up and down when we got there and left. We were also surprised that there is no housekeeping unless you stay at least 7 nights, but it wasn’t a huge deal and we got extra towels as needed. Overall we are big fans of Sonesta because of the room sizes and included breakfast- we stayed in one in Anaheim earlier in the year and enjoyed it as well. We will continue to look for them on our travels, as they fit our family size very well.

We stayed at Sonesta Suites San Bruno as a quick stop after a long flight, and while it served its purpose, it’s not somewhere we’d choose to stay again. On the plus side, the apartment was spacious with a well-equipped kitchen, which was great after traveling. The location is convenient—close to the airport and within easy reach of the BART station, making it simple to get into San Francisco. There’s also a swimming pool, gym, and free breakfast, which are all nice extras when you’re adjusting after a flight. However, there were several downsides. The decor felt quite tired, and the carpets were noticeably worn. The airport shuttle was frustrating—you can’t pre-book it and have to call on arrival, which is tricky with an international SIM. It also took a long time to arrive. We were told by staff that the shuttle only serves the airport, despite signage suggesting a wider 5-mile radius, which was disappointing. Breakfast was another letdown, with plastic plates and cutlery creating unnecessary waste. The surrounding area also feels quite industrial and lacking in atmosphere, although there is a supermarket nearby which is convenient. Overall, it worked as a practical stop to recover from jet lag, but next time we’d prefer to stay somewhere more central and pay a bit extra for a better experience.

Checked in and the first room they gave us was terrible! The furniture was ripped and very worn. I went to the front desk and asked for a new room. The second one was not a whole lot better. Checked in and the first room they gave us was terrible! The furniture was ripped and very worn. I went to the front desk and asked for a new room. The second one was not a whole lot better. The clerk said, they are expecting new furniture and it keeps getting delayed. I asked him if there was anything that had been remodeled recently. He took us up to the 3rd floor and this room looked a bit better. There were no tears in the furniture although although it's still looked dingy Two bedroom suite looked clean. It was very outdated though. Hopefully the new furniture will help. It was very warm when we checked into the room the thermostat read 78! We turned it on cool and went out to go catch BART and go to dinner. Upon returning several hours later, the thermostat still read 78 degrees. The fan was running, but it was not rolling cold air. We opened the windows the small amount they would open. Front desk said no maintenance personal would be available until 10am the next day. Sleeping was very uncomfortable that night. The next morning, the maintenance man come up and the breaker for the cooling unit had been tripped. Easy fix had we known to check that.

We stayed here the night before we flew out and again the night we returned. The good thing is it’s convenient and has a shuttle. The room was average but dated. The concerning thins was the first night there were two break ins of vehicles in the parking lot. The staff recommended we park out as close to the front door as possible. Thankfully are was not broken into while we were gone. .
