The AC Marriott Hotel in downtown San Rafael is a beautifully designed hotel. It’s very new and the aesthetic is European very clean in its design. The lobby is spacious and a great space to work. They also have a big cozy couch with a fireplace . LThey have a restaurant with a great breakfast. The rooms are very clean and large. I love the way the bathroom and the shower are designed. The hotel itself is accessible to downtown San Rafael as well as it’s very easy to get around all of Marin. I want to give a special shout out to the front desk and specifically Jennifer. Jennifer is an absolute professional who is kind and friendly and most importantly you can count on her to take care of all your needs. It’s the kind of service you look for in a hotel that sets it apart.

The AC Marriott San Rafael is a good place to stay if you are in the Marin area. It’s centrally located and close to the downtown San Rafael area with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The AC Marriott San Rafael is a good place to stay if you are in the Marin area. It’s centrally located and close to the downtown San Rafael area with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. They have a good workout facility available if that’s what you need. The rooms and pretty spacious and comfy for a quick trip. They have a rooftop bar area that looks nice, but it did close early due to high winds the night I was there. They did have an indoor bar near the lobby, but it seemed to be closed when I was there. Pros: 1) Close to downtown area with plenty of restaurants within walking distance 2) Rooms and lobby were clean and spacious 3) Staff was friendly and helpful Cons: 1) Parking is very limited, so you may need to find street parking. Be mindful of parking meters and hours of operation. 2) No evening night bar options in the hotel were available. Overall, it’s a good place to stay. Keep the parking situation in mind, but that can be worked out. @nomoneytravelguy

“Don't get ripped off on the view”

A downtown hotel was needed for a long time in SAN RAFAEL so it was nice when one appeared! However I have been here 3 times now and although it is nice they charge extra for a "Mountain View" room. I do not mind them charging more for such a room but on all 3 visits I was not put in a Mountain Vie… lisää

A downtown hotel was needed for a long time in SAN RAFAEL so it was nice when one appeared! However I have been here 3 times now and although it is nice they charge extra for a "Mountain View" room. I do not mind them charging more for such a room but on all 3 visits I was not put in a Mountain View room, I was put in a room on the opposite side which has a view of a hill! How can they get this wrong so repeatedly unless they are doing it deliberately?
