Though the hotel DOES actually look like the picture shown here... it's a bit deceiving. You're looking at the from of the hotel facing the main street and the rooms are on the sides. The further back you go from the front the better your view of the lake. (Mirror Lake.) The interior of the hotel - public spaces - is VERY nice. Rustic. Well-decorated. Comfortable furniture. Nice lobby sitting area and nice breakfast room (which I assume is set up as a bar/lounge in-season; wasn't "stocked" during our late May stay). The rooms are... a bit dated... but fine. Indeed, high ceilings with nice beams. The balcony goes across the hotel. Nice Adirondack chairs. Our suite (241) had the best view of the lake including from the sitting room inside our suite. Bathroom was fine and I'm guessing recently renovated. Good shower... size... water pressure. GREAT location! Right on the lake/main drag. The whole town is basically walking distance with the hotel as base. VERY friendly and helpful staff. Great little breakfast including on certain days biscuits with sausage gravy to accompany the eggs and bacon (or sausage links). Waffle makers. Bagels, English muffins. Nice continental breakfast selection with hot items. GREAT POOL! PERFECTLY HEATED! 82-84 degrees. Has a deep end too! And there's a jacuzzi/hot tub. Oh, and a spa. Nice little exercise room as well. Comfortable bed. It's rated as a 2-star but I'd actually rate it as a 3.5-star.

“Great location and wonderful breakfast!”

We spent three nights here in room 108, toward Mirror Lake access. The room was old but very clean. Room had two Q beds, a fridge, microwave and a tub/shower combo. We had chairs outside to relax in. We spent three nights here in room 108, toward Mirror Lake access. The room was old but very clean. Room had two Q beds, a fridge, microwave and a tub/shower combo. We had chairs outside to relax in. Morning had a terrific free breakfast which was ample, well replenished by cheerful staff and rather generous as far as what it includes. Despite the hot weather, we never used the pool or spa. Just never found the time. The location was fine for walking Main St shops, restaurants and a walk along the lake after dinner. We stayed here about 28 years prior and it looked the same from outside. The staff does access your room daily to remove waste basket debris and replace any towels or TP, etc. You can decline that, if so desired. Parking was tricky, as the business next door is redoing their parking lot and improving property delineation. We found this hotel to be a very good value and will stay here again when we return. All of the staff we encountered were top notch.

“Time for some TLC”

This is one of our regular stops when heading for the East Coast. Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff, and much better than average hot & cold breakfast. We've noticed over the last few years that the rooms and furniture are fast approaching their 'best before' date. Time for a refresh.
