“Awesome stay!”

I stayed in unit 4, great stay had nice wifi connection. They had a train going by every 10 hours but it was fine for me, i stayed there for 5 years almost, great stay. 10/10 would go to again. RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYBODY!

I was looking for a hotel/rental house in the Lafayette area for the week of Thanksgiving. My sister lives in Lafayette but her apartment is too small to fit four adults and two children. As I was looking for a hotel/rental house, Choo Choo Lofts came up. The pictures looked amazing but there was only one review. Though the review wasnt a bad review, it did give some points that almost scared me away from booking this loft. But I booked it. This loft was truly amazing. The pictures didn't do this loft any justice. The loft has a security gate around it and we were provided with that information by the owner of the loft through. Once you enter the loft, there is a beautiful living room, dining area and kitchen. These rooms arent big but we were very pleased. You can tell that the owner takes very good care of the loft and they took the time out to modernize it. There were three bedrooms that were nice sizes. The master bedroom has a bathroom which was really nice. His and her sinks sealed the deal for the master bedroom. The hardwood floors are great. I could honestly model my home after this loft. I believe that there are three lofts within the gated area but it seemed like we were the only ones there during the beginning part of our stay. The outside is nice. I would come back to stay at this loft a million times over. Free Wifi as well. I had one issue with the Wifi and the Choo Choo Loft team were right on it. No complaints at all.

Great central location, and we all chimed in "choo choo" whenever the train went by. Neither of the two gates to the property was ever locked. My bed was "made" with an oversized fitted sheet pulled over a crumpled up plastic mattress protector, and no top sheet, though I was able to find one in a closet. My sister's bed was broken and sagging, which we were able to remedy with a paint can we found and a piece of wood. The kitchen was fairly filthy, all the surfaces needed to be washed. There are no handles on any of the drawers or cabinets. There was garbage throughout... dust bunnies and plastic wrappers under all the beds, tables, in corners, etc, anywhere a broom doesn't easily go. A whole unit's worth of towels and bedding, plus plastic and garbage, was jammed down behind the dryer, a hygiene and fire hazard they might ponder, considering that there has obviously been a bad fire on the upper floor. The dryer was full of smelly damp linens. We basically had to prep and clean the place ourselves on arrival. Choo Choo has potential, but unless they replace the management with people who understand vacation rentals - and how to hire and instruct maintenance staff - it will probably degenerate into an unlivable slum within a few years at most, if it doesn't burn down first.
