My husband and I stayed at the Sanctuary to celebrate our 6th anniversary, and it was the most magical stay!! Every staff member we interacted with was warm and welcoming, while also providing incredible details on the hotel and surrounding area. The check in experience was easy and we were upgraded to the most beautiful ocean view room. We were also greeted with celebratory prosecco and macarons - a thoughtful touch!! The location and amenities at the property are unparalleled and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. You truly cannot find a more beautiful ocean front property in Monterey. The onsite restaurant, Saltwood, was also our favorite of the whole trip! Again, fantastic waitstaff, unique food, and great desserts. Overall this was my favorite anniversary trip we've ever taken and we can't wait to come back!! Thank you to the Sanctuary staff for the magnificent experience!

“Wonderful experience at The Sanctuary Resort.”

Great experience. The resort is literally on the beach. Deluxe room was comfortable and outdoor patio was wonderful. Views are amazing. The on-site dining at Salt Wood was convenient and offered great food and service. Close enough to Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey.

“Anniversary Trip”

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and stayed here for the first time. It was really awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and stayed here for the first time. It was really awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved having the fireplace, room service was great, the restaurant was really good. The staff was tremendous. The beach was amazing, took an hour walk with nobody insight around us. Just the dunes and the water, it was awesome. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is due to the fact the people next to us let their dogs start barking outside early in the morning. Not the hotel's fault, and I have no problem with dogs, but people need to be mindful of other guests. We'd go back again for sure

“Loved this stop on our long road trip”

Our king panoramic oceanfront deluxe room was amazing. We loved everything it had to offer including the table and chairs on the patio, the great views and the access to the beach. Our king panoramic oceanfront deluxe room was amazing. We loved everything it had to offer including the table and chairs on the patio, the great views and the access to the beach. The complimentary bottle of wine and robes were nice touches. The bed was comfortable and the room was mostly clean, except for some dog hair and a few items that were left behind by the previous occupants. We didn't love the dogs barking next door to us, but overall our stay was peaceful. This is partially a time share resort and you can't park near your room (they will golf cart you and your luggage to/from your room upon request), which we didn't know prior to our arrival. The restaurant had good food and drinks, but the menu seemed limited. All of the employees that we interacted with were very kind and happy. We felt the value was good.
