I have stayed at a lot IHG hotels and this was "predicable". For me, that's good. Nice staff for check in and out. Clean, quiet, and lots of places very close by to eat or get some carry out. One item to note, it's sits next to a cemetery. We were on the second floor and our window overlook the grave. I am guess those on the first floor got a much more up close view. Odd, I have never seen a hotel with a cemetery next door. Not good or bad, just a heads up!

For the price and availability at this time (before knowing), it worked pretty much. Anything higher priced would not be worth it. When I arrive late around 10pm, walked into my room and the toilet wasn't working - had that constant running water sound because the plunger inside was faulty (this is a familiar sound and should had been noticed.) Now I would expect some final room checks before the next guest arrives, and a flushable toilet has to be tops - especially after a very long drive like me (over 5 hours.) LUCKILY they had another room to relocate to (cant imagine if they didn't.) Tight parking situation but convenient to many things. Noisy area, especially when those loud popping sport cars - we all know who they are, flying up and down the main strip unchecked (beware light sleepers.) Bathroom was very SMALL and basic - that is not a show stopper for me personally. However, there were no hanging hooks in the bathroom, the metal soap dispenser was right in the middle of shower and my elbows hit the sharp bottom edge. Maybe move these back of shower..? The towel rack was IN the shower and perhaps behind bathroom door (which is bare) would be better. Shower head looked weathered and only had a fast stream setting. Shower and SMALL sink seems to have a slow drain of water. Towels seems skimpy and needed to double up for a good drying. Wish the fridge had a freezer so I can refreeze my freezer packs, etc. (some places does have this convenient feature.) This might be one of my many deciders when getting a room somewhere else. Had a sign on the outside of elevator to "not hold it open"..? Well that is a common thing ppl might do, and what elevators are designed to do. Not be courteous to hold it for someone that needs help walking to it with a family, lots of luggage, an elderly/disabled person..? I don't get it. Will something "happen" if you held it open..? There is no vending machine in or end of hallway. Instead, need to purchase from front desk only (sometimes ya just don't wanna go to the lobby where ppl go in and out) and there really wasn't anything good. Get your snack from a store ahead of time. Continental breakfast was "good enough", the usual things to expect there and is enough to start the day (they need to check their trash baskets more in that room and be ahead of food running low.) Recommend bringing your breakfast back to the room, tight area with not much room between tables. Should have a conveyer-belt style toaster, it only had a 4 traditional slots. Had an issue with the Direct TV system (people still use Dish?) where it would freeze and not necessarily pixelate as if there is a bad signal/storm. Told front desk and asked if anyone else was reporting an overall system-wide issue but apparently was just me, I guess. With no troubleshooting suggestions provided (I am sure this issue happened before), I personally fixed the issue by restarting the device AND the adapter behind the TV (took me a little while to notice there was an adapter behind the mount wall.) The front desk should have some basic common issues and steps to resolve it. There were 2 TV remotes, one for the TV itself and other for the DISH. Should have one universal controller. Air quality and A/C worked well, overall room appeared clean from a visual - somewhat hard to tell beyond that. The mattresses was decent for me but I don't have back issues so, I am easy regarding this. Others may find it uncomfortable. The hallway goes down 4 steps in the middle with some loading dock style ramp on one side - I guess for luggage. Kind of weird but wonder if there is a better solution. I had to almost beg for a "do not disturb" / "not ready for cleaning" placard to hang on outside handle of room door (there wasn't one in the room- there usually is.) From a glance, seems like no one had any hanging out late into the night. Seemed off. They asked me if I did not want my room cleaned in the morning, and I said no and they asked what room number. Just wanted to hang a sign instead of some awkward situation (he was nice about it overall.) People were nice but only as a LAST resort, I would stay here - or maybe to see if they did make changes after all :-) However, will likely span my searches further out first, look for deals, discounts AA, etc.. Well that's it folks. Lets see if management (if there are any there) who will take this constructive criticism and make improvements. You're welcome :-) There is too much competition to ignore it.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is in a good location. (That is probably why it is a little more expensive than most. The best thing about this hotel is that it is in a good location. (That is probably why it is a little more expensive than most. (for one night with all the taxes & fees, it was OVER $300) You can park for free and walk to lots of different restaurants in this area of Annapolis. (There is a Mission Barbecue restaurant right at the end of the hotel parking lot!) The lobby is small and unimpressive. Staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms are what you would expect with all the amenities one needs. Breakfast is standard fare for hotels like this. They had chocolate chip cookies out for snacking in the evening. The one thing we did NOT like was there is no way to shut out the outside light to sleep. There are no drapes, just a translucent blind through which you could see the town lights. There is no way you can make the room dark. We couldn't figure out how this was okay for a place people go to in order to sleep.
