“Over all no complaints”

Some of the rooms need some updating & sprucing up. No hand lotion or extra bars of soap. Staff was very nice & accommodating. Easy access to the highway. Gas station/sub shop in the same parking lot made it convenient. Breakfast had a nice variety.

“Nice overnight experience”

We needed a clean, safe place for one night near Ionia. This Super 8 fit that bill perfectly. Went to town for breakfast at Bluewater Cafe, as hotel breakfast was typical for a Super 8 and we were looking for a more complete breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for a simple overnight experience.

“An average Super 8... about what I expected, but I slept well!”

I went on a solo trip to Ionia over a weekend at the end of January (into beginning of February) 2026 and spent a Saturday night at this Super 8. I'd driven past this Super 8 many times along I-96 over the years but had never had a reason to stay here. Well, I finally had that reason as part of my solo trip. It's about 7 miles south of town. I arrived early in the afternoon on the Saturday. My check-in experience was so-so (unfortunately, there was a mixup with the room I was originally assigned to because it hadn't been made up yet). The room that I eventually was assigned to (#221) was comfortable enough. The cleanliness was average but it was acceptable. One thing, though, was that the shower/bathtub was extremely slippery. I didn't have any issues, but someone could easily slip and fall in there. I can't speak to any of the amenities because I didn't take advantage of them (I had breakfast elsewhere, for instance). But overall, I slept quite well for the night. I didn't have very high expectations going into my stay because it was a Super 8, but the review spread on TripAdvisor was fairly positive so I figured I'd give it a shot. I didn't regret it in any way; it adequately served its purpose for a night.
