“Great place to stay!”

This place is fantastic! Not only historical and beautiful, the accommodations were more than fine! The bed very comfortable, the bathroom (though small) was more than enough with a great hot water pressure in the shower. “Great Northern Lodge Lounge”

We stayed two nights in East Glacier Park and came to Glacier Park Lodge for dinner the first night. We ended up choosing the Lounge due to wait time and price. “Expensive but lacking something in terms of service and amenities”

Had one night in this hotel while visiting Glacier Park. It's another expensive hotel like all the ones around the park but you have to be prepared to pay these prices if you stay in the area. For both check in and check out we found the experience not to the standard you would expect for the price. Staff were on the phone or just rushed away when they saw you and said they were busy. Not the best really. The room itself as many people have said previously was very very dated. The bathroom was tiny and the shower so small it was hard to turn around or wash properly. There was no aircon, TV or kettle /tea/coffee although we brought our own for the latter. However we did have a comfortable nights sleep in the two large double beds . We elected to dine in the bar as the restaurant prices were very high. We were told it was first come first served in both places with no reservations. We were given a pager and told to have a drink and wait. I must say that the view of the mountains as the sun sets while having a drink looking out is stunning - but not for 45 minutes and as the wine was expensive we were not going to have a second one as we wanted wine with our meal too. Even though we could see there were free tables available . I kept going back to the "greeter" man on the desk but he said nothing was free and really didn't seem to care at all . I think it was only pressure that finally maded him give me a table as the buzzer on the pager never went off . The meal itself was very nice and the server friendly but I felt the man on the desk didn't care and the wait was ridiculous as it was nearly 8.15 when we got in plus then the wait to be served our meal. Surely there must be a more efficient system. We didn't bother with paying for breakfast next day and ate at the excellent Two medicines diner just outside the hotel. It's not all criticism - the large lobby is amazing made of timber and the view from the terrace was fantastic. Just a shame there is no lift and we had to carry our 2 huge suitcases up to the third floor.

“Underwhelming”

I found this place underwhelming. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was expecting a nice lodge where I can unwind in (relative) luxury after a day in the outdoors.
