Great location and is basically one of the few lodging options so that’s a plus for this property. Rooms are rustic and have a lodge vibe. Beautiful creek running outside our balcony. “Honestly, it's the best place to stay in the east Glacier Park area”

Hotels are not exactly plentiful in the Babb / East Glacier Park area. Most people going to Glacier stay in Kalispell or within the park, and the eastern park is kind of a secondary destination. Hotels are not exactly plentiful in the Babb / East Glacier Park area. Most people going to Glacier stay in Kalispell or within the park, and the eastern park is kind of a secondary destination. I booked my trip fairly last minute, and most of the hotels were booked up. I settled for a 2-queen room at the Great Bear Lodge at St. Mary Village, and was a bit worried about the mixed reviews here. It turned out it was a lot better than I expected. The rooms are nothing exciting, and you have to understand that you're paying more for the location and the high season than the room itself. However, it definitely wasn't bad. The room was of decent size, the beds were comfortable, and we had a balcony with very scenic views. There was even a nice creek running next to the hotel, right under the room, so I left the door open and fell asleep to the peaceful sounds of a babbling brook! The place was far from perfect. The parking lot was weird (especially the auxiliary lot which was mostly dirt), and the elevators were slow. But it was a solid place to stay, and most importantly, IT HAS AIR CONDITIONING, which many places in the Babb area don't. It can sometimes get hot there in the summer, so it's a huge mistake to book anywhere without A/C. I'll definitely be back next time I want to stay in the East Glacier Park area. Food is tricky. The attached restaurant is mediocre, as is the steakhouse in Babb. I ended up just getting sandwiches and pizza the remainder of my time in the area.

This review is for the tiny houses that you can stay in at St. Mary Village. Since we had to check in at the main lodge I am guessing these two places are connected. This review is for the tiny houses that you can stay in at St. Mary Village. Since we had to check in at the main lodge I am guessing these two places are connected. First check in is at the main lodge. Parking at the main lodge can be a night mare even if all you need to do is check in. The $250 security deposit is very steep, they called it for incidentals but lets be honest, it is a security deposit. The tiny house was actually not bad. It was clean and bright and comfortable except for the bed being built into the corner of the room so the one person on the inside has to climb over the other person in the bed to get out. There is plenty of room for the bed to be in the middle of the wall to give access to both sides of the bed. There is not much space to put things like luggage and coolers and hiking stuff unless you use the table or futon. But then those places are not available to use for eating or sitting. The bath house was 20' away on a concrete path that was well lit. The bath house was actually quite nice. These tiny houses were the only place available to stay and they are very expensive, even in late September.

We booked the Motel at Saint Mary Village basically because it was the only thing available when I researched reservations, other than spending an exorbitant amount of money for a room. It would've been fine. It is small basic but sufficient. Unfortunately as we had arrived later in the day, we dropped off our suitcases and proceeded to find someplace to eat dinner. So when we returned and wanted to settle in, we realized that the carpet along the entire wall opposite the bed under the desk was wet. At that point we were so tired from the day of traveling that we just decided to make do and wear our shoes the entire time in the room. There apparently must either be a leak somewhere in the roof or who knows in the pipes, but it needs to be addressed. Just in case anyone at Saint Mary Village is reading this review. It is room 765. The room is a basic motel room. Shower was fine. Would've been nice to have two night tables one on either side of the bed but other than that it was satisfactory for what we needed for this trip as we were not spending that much time in the room anyway. Other than that, the location is perfect , entrance to the park is right there.It is only 1/2 hour drive to Logans Pass The cafe located across the street in The Lodge Registration building was great for a fast and easy breakfast in the morning.
