Exactly what one would expect from a Holiday Inn Express hotel; comfortable room and bed, decent work surface, microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast and internet included in the price. I was astonished to discover that they did not accept Google Pay (or Apple Pay), meaning my wife had to produce her physical credit card or we could not have checked in! How can a modern hotel lack a function that every Starbucks and bodega has? That said, I would not hesitate to stay here again. Added bonus, the area is beautiful.

This hotel was just the final stop on our way home from a long road trip. We came in late, and left early, so this review is all about first impressions. There was clearly an attempt, at some point, to update this hotel. The lobby area is very nice, and the hallways have clean carpet and bright wallpaper. There are granite counters in the bathroom. But the hotel still has a shabby vibe. Our room wasn't dirty per se, but it wasn't clean either. You know how your bathroom at home would look if you didn't give it a deep clean every now then? Well, that's what this looked like: dirty grout in the bathroom tile, greyish tub bottom, scum in all the corners, and on all the baseboards. The door bottoms were chipped, the paint was peeling off the wall in an 8-inch chunk next to the shower. The carpeting was worn and grimy. The lack of lighting in the room contributed to the feeling of dreariness. We turned on every light in the room and you could still barely see, even during the daytime! The room entry light was so dim that my husband turned it off, thinking it hadn't been turned on. We had to leave the bathroom light on just to be able to sort through our suitcase. The hotel breakfast was blah. The only bright spot in our stay was that we both got a great night's sleep! The bed was firm and the sheets smooth, and there was a selection of pillows for every teast. And there was no noise! I don't know if the HVAC unit just didn't need to turn on, or if it was just particularly silent, but it was a pleasure to not be woken by a loud piece of machinery cycling on and off all night.
