The room we had was clean, spacious, with microwave and fridge/freezer and 2 comfortable queen beds. Wifi can be extremely slow at times. I found the price outrageous however which really gets under my skin. This hotel is not of the calibre that would normally command that kind of money. But it's a game of supply and demand and the demand is high due to the oil industry. Carlsbad itself was even worse with rooms at USD$180+ per night. Roswell is much much cheaper is that's within your travels. The room was in good shape for the most part but could use some freshening up with paint in the bathroom area. Not a big deal or deal killer. Some of the other patrons were noisy and inconsiderate unfortunately but that's beyond the control of the hotel. I would not consider our stay here a good value but it is close to the caverns and the highway plus there's a restaurant and grocery store within walking distance.

“Good value and convenient hotel”

We just wanted to visit the Carlsbad caverns, so this hotel was perfectly located for us. It has recently changed its management and name to Caverns Inn. We just wanted to visit the Carlsbad caverns, so this hotel was perfectly located for us. It has recently changed its management and name to Caverns Inn. The double queen room was clean and beds were comfy. There was a general power failure when we were there, not the hotel's fault. Breakfast options were limited and there was no place to seat inside, so one could take the food to the room or eat at a picnic table outside. We were happy to have found this hotel so close to the caves and so much more reasonable than similar hotels in Carlsbad, which is rather expensive. You need to have a car since there are no places to eat nearby. I would stay there again.

This place is no longer under Rodeway contract, as least according to my reservation there. Now managed by Whites City Cavern Inn. There will be trade-offs to stay here. This place is no longer under Rodeway contract, as least according to my reservation there. Now managed by Whites City Cavern Inn. There will be trade-offs to stay here. Pros: The prices at Carlsbad hotels are at least doubled the prices at this location. It is only 7 miles down a well marked road from the caverns, a real plus when driving out in the dark after watching the bats. (Bats left the area in mid_October) The room was clean. Restaurants in Carlsbad is only 20 miles away. Cons: Grumpy front desk people. There is only ONE restaurant in Whites City, and it's closed on Monday, & at 7PM the other nights. You won't make it if you're there through dusk watching the squeaky creatures fly. The general store (closes 8 PM) had really well preserved sandwiches, think preservatives and very dry bread, or you could salt overload yourself with tons of Cup-O-Noodle and Doritos for dinner. The breakfast consists of dry cereal, cellophane wrapped muffins, milk, coffee, and self-made waffles. Best you bring your own food.

Stayed here recently while visiting Carlsbad Caverns. They apparently were recently bought by another motel and had taken their sign down, which made it hard to find from the interstate. Stayed here recently while visiting Carlsbad Caverns. They apparently were recently bought by another motel and had taken their sign down, which made it hard to find from the interstate. Room was big, clean. Close to the caverns, but nothing else around. Not sure why it’s called White’s City when it’s about 2 blocks long. Only one place to eat that is not great.
