Courtyard Carolina Beach Oceanfront

“A nice place overlooking the beach.”

The hotel was clean, and the rooms were recently updated. All rooms overlook the ocean with direct access to the beach. The bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the two elevators was down, which caused some delays getting to the rooms.

Nice, big rooms, great location, good bar. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. No typical breakfast buffet but there are a few breakfast items available to purchase. The avocado toast was good. My only complaint is that I had to activate my mobile key at the desk. This defeats the whole purpose of a mobile key. The message I received upon activation was “now you can bypass the desk and go directly to your room”. No, you can’t. Fortunately, we were the only ones checking in and it didn’t take long. Not a big deal but if it was high season and I had to wait in a line of people to check in, I would be irritated.

Check in was good and the views from the room was amazing. We got the 10th floor and got to enjoy the sunrise and full moon rise. There is also a convenient place to wash your feet after walking on the beach. You also feel like you are in the middle of the action because you can hear the live music… lisää

Check in was good and the views from the room was amazing. We got the 10th floor and got to enjoy the sunrise and full moon rise. There is also a convenient place to wash your feet after walking on the beach. You also feel like you are in the middle of the action because you can hear the live music from the bars nearby. Close to breakfast options. I did ask for housekeeping because we stayed for a few days and would have loved a refresh of the bathroom and beds. Especially with the sand. But from what we can tell, they only took out the trash and refreshed the towels.

The ocean view from the 4th floor was excellent. The pool was beautiful. but due to the weather it was unused. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The ocean view from the 4th floor was excellent. The pool was beautiful. but due to the weather it was unused. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The television was a little undersized for the room. Upon entering the guestroom the AC was blasting 62 degrees of super cool air despite it being about 60 degrees outdoors. The service tech confirmed that it was not working correctly and repaired it. The room phone also went dead, so we used our cell to call the front desk. An interesting cost saving feature which I found discouraging was the lack of an in- room microwave. There is only one community microwave near the ice machine on each floor. I had almost decided that I would have to get dressed again after putting on my comfortable evening wear just to use the microwave. I eventually decided not to bother, but having to make the decision to stay put and not enjoy a tasty treat because Mariott has decided to cheap out was disheartening. Parking was free. You can walk to quite a few restaurants nearby.
