At least my third time staying at the Hampton over the past couple of years. Such a great hotel. The front office associate (I believe his name is Matt) was just great. Very friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping department is spot on. My room and the hotel was spotless and the decorative folded towels in the bathroom were an unexpected surprise. Will certainly return during my next visit to Charlotte.

As chain hotels go, this one wasn’t bad. It is modern and has ample parking. Our check-in went smoothly. Our room was spacious and had all necessary furniture, including a nice desk. The bathroom was clean and well-supplied. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet at night, except that the fan on the HVAC was on the noisy side. I used earplugs and that took care of the problem. The hotel has a spacious fitness center with a good selection of equipment. It is not open 24/7; it is closed between midnight and 6 am. The hotel has a large outdoor pool but in early October it was closed. The hotel provides a free breakfast. The theme there was “quantity over quality.” It has a number of items, but none of them that I chose were particularly good. A bagel came apart in my hand. The scrambled eggs were rubbery. If I stayed here more than one night I would look for somewhere else to have breakfast. Although there are a number of chain hotels in the area, as is typical near a freeway exit, this one was back in a quiet residential neighborhood. We took a walk at night that was pleasant. It’s not really walkable into a commercial district, but it was nice to be near houses and trees. We had some problems connecting with the WiFi, but once that was resolved it worked well. The TV was disappointing. The remote had a button for Netflix, but the TV did not offer Netflix. I’d recommend that the hotel either upgrade the TVs or supply remotes that don’t offer a service that is not available.
