I stay at the Bellefontaine Comfort Inn 6-8 times per year when I am in town on business. I have always been very pleased with this location. Managers and staff are friend, welcoming and professional.. Property is clean and well maintained. There is a lounge on premises serving beer and liquor, but no food. Fortunately local restaurants are allowed to deliver to guests in the lounge.

“Attractive Hotel with a Few Quirks”

A convenient hotel that is good but just misses the mark of being a perfect stay. Rooms are remodeled, but that means laminate flooring, which I personally do not care for. A convenient hotel that is good but just misses the mark of being a perfect stay. Rooms are remodeled, but that means laminate flooring, which I personally do not care for. Carpeting is quieter and softer on the feet. The room was large and seemed a bit sparse…only one soft chair when there could easily have been two, and no ottoman. Bathroom had a nice glass shower (no tub), and a nightlight which has become a rare commodity at other hotels. My room overlooked the good-sized pool, which as of early June was not open yet. It would be pleasant on a hot day. The hot breakfast is always welcome, and they do offer different items each day as early as 6 am. However, because the hotel is understaffed, not everything was available without staff input (i.e., coffee machine, waffle batter, milk dispenser). The staff were pleasant enough but not always as attentive as needed. I just stood and stood at the desk for check-in and then had problems entering the door of my room. Would I stay here again? Yes, it was comfortable, quiet, and pleasant overall, and with just a little more attention to details could be the best place to stay in the area. And of course, the 4 pm cookies in the lobby are always welcome.

I was visiting Bellefontaine over a weekend in October 2023 with a friend of mine, and we stayed here on a Saturday night. We arrived early in the afternoon (a few hours before the official check-in time), and we were very happy that our room was ready... so the clerk at the desk was able to check us in. That was great! Our room (#235) was clean and comfortable... no problems there. I think the hotel might be undergoing some renovations (or at least painting the hallways) which is good. One thing I really liked about this hotel is that it has a bar in it! Comfort Inns usually don't have those, so it was nice to see that. My friend and I ended up having a drink at the bar at around 11 p.m. on Saturday night and were chatting with the friendly bartender. We decided to eat elsewhere for breakfast in the morning, so I can't really comment on that. One thing, though, that I was annoyed with had to do with my form of payment. I sometimes like to pay with cash when I stay at hotels. (I'm a cash person, in general.) This particular hotel has a policy where guests who pay with cash must put down a $200 cash deposit in addition to their payment. I understand that a deposit is necessary for incidentals, but most of the time, when I pay with cash at hotel, a credit card suffices for the deposit... but not here. A $200 cash deposit on top of the amount for the stay was not feasible. I did fill out the hotel's survey after my stay and expressed my concern about this policy in the survey, and I received a response that provided an explanation as to why they don't allow credit cards for the deposit. The explanation didn't fully make sense to me (for most hotels this isn't an issue), but maybe I could have asked to pay with cash upon checkout if they could have inspected my room first to ensure that there was no damage before accepting the cash. I also recognize that I am not like most guests. Most guests are just accustomed to paying with a credit card. Even though I was annoyed by this policy, the hotel was fine. We had a decent stay. If I ever find myself needing lodging again in Bellefontaine, I'd certainly consider staying here again... but I wouldn't have any expectations of paying with cash for the stay.

“just ok”

Well the carpets can sure use a very good cleaning - or even replaced. When we checked in we had to had ask for housekeeping to come clean our bathroom - it was easy to tell that it had not been cleaned. The hotel could just use some updating.
