Right on the storefront of Lake Keuka, location brought us to this Hampton Inn but the hard-working staff here elevated our stay. The breakfast buffet was continuously attended to and replenished each morning of our 3 day stay and the staff's care and attention deserves kudos. The dining area itself is a very spacious facility. The lounge with bar was a pleasant happy hour respite and we ordered dinner here our first night. The chef is excellent -- we had generous lobster rolls with a ton of fried well done as ordered. The bartender/waitress was working solo but she was all smiles and pleasantness during her non-stop tending to customers. There is a small terrace with tables for outside dining. My one suggestion is the spacious patio overlooking the lake needs some tables with umbrellas. It's in full sun by 11 am thru early evening, so some umbrella shade is needed.

“All good but the bed”

The title says it all. I absolutely loved the outdoor seating area behind the hotel where you can sit and relax lakefront! There’s a firetable and comfy outdoor seating. The title says it all. I absolutely loved the outdoor seating area behind the hotel where you can sit and relax lakefront! There’s a firetable and comfy outdoor seating. The indoor pool and the hottub were clean and the perfect temperature. (The pool area looks out on the lake.) This would be an easy 5 stars if only the beds weren’t the equivalent of sleeping on a billiard table. We met the couple we were traveling with at breakfast the next morning, and we were all popping ibuprofen from backaches. The breakfast, btw, was delicious. The coffee area is a bit separate from the food, so it’s easy to get your coffee without waiting behind someone cooking a waffle to move out of the way. (Try the chocolate waffles!) The coffee, tea, and cocoa is available all day, which we appreciated. If you’re confused about whether or not to stay here after reading this, I don’t blame you. If you enjoy a VERY firm mattress, you’re in like Flynn. Otherwise you may be like our friends; ready to leave at 5 am because they found it impossible to lie on the bed any longer.

Im always amazed that Chris and company do as well as they do with the few people that work here. The place is always clean. That said, breakfast has gone way down in selection, and at $200 a night, my expectations were not met.

Staff was very friendly and eager to chat. Housekeeping is too understaffed to do more than a once over… so windows, surfaces, baths have visible dirty, bugs and mold/ in-depth dirty. Staff was very friendly and eager to chat. Housekeeping is too understaffed to do more than a once over… so windows, surfaces, baths have visible dirty, bugs and mold/ in-depth dirty. It’s the common areas that are a mess from entry sitting areas overlooking lake where windows are streaky inside and out, elevators likewise smeared with handprints, and entire exterior is unkempt. They desperately need a person to power wash patio, patio furniture and tend to landscaping, ciggie butts etc… Back patio needs proper furniture with umbrellas. At present bird sh*t and lack of sun protection made it totally unwelcoming… it should be what lures guests back, but not as it is now. Breakfast ample but poor quality like pre-made eggs, mostly unhealthy options. Coffee is horribly bitter at all the Hiltons we stayed at on this trip -please up the quality Hilton no one wants to drink cheap sludge. As for Penn Yan only visit on weekends as lots of places closed most of the day so decent food hard to find. Could not swim in lake because of warnings. Best to visit area if just into wineries otherwise Ithaca end of region is where things remain open and more to do. Too expensive for the quality of the vacation.
