Wedding venue with out of state guests. All were extremely impressed with the venue, the hospitality, the food and the staff. Perfect.

Very comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean room. We stayed on the third floor of this huge building. There is no lift so don’t overpack if you choose the upper floor. The outside temperature was blistery hot when we were there and the portable fan in the closet was extremely useful. We were greeted with two bottles of water and departed with a goodie bag for the road. Breakfast was delicious. Checkout was 11am. During our stay the restaurant and tavern were closed so we went to the James Buchanan Hotel restaurant for a surprisingly great meal. We would definitely return to both of those places.

“Wonderful experience!”

Lovely one night experience. I wish our travels had allowed for an earlier check in and later check out as we would have enjoyed seeing more of the grounds and drinking coffee on the outside porch adjacent to our room (we checked in after 8 pm and left before 9 am). Lovely one night experience. I wish our travels had allowed for an earlier check in and later check out as we would have enjoyed seeing more of the grounds and drinking coffee on the outside porch adjacent to our room (we checked in after 8 pm and left before 9 am). The house is enormous. The photos don’t really reflect how massive the property/home is but you expect a woman dressed in revolutionary garb to greet you when you entire the enormous center hall! That’s the immediate impression! We checked in late in the evening and were greeted by the very sweet owner, a slight Japanese woman with a warm smile. Upon check in you fill out your breakfast menu. Full breakfast is served on an enclosed porch from 8-9:30 am. Our room (#6) upstairs was lovely! Very clean and sort of kitsch. The poster bed was super comfortable and the cotton blanket plus fluffy down comforter were perfect. The bathroom is small with a stall shower. The water pressure was incredible (think dermabrasion!) and plenty of hot water. The room was air conditioned and actually a little chilly. Plenty of closet space, tables for all of your items and sufficient outlets for electronics. There was a code for secure WiFi as well. Some reviewers commented on outside noise. We didn’t hear anything other than some cats arguing with one another in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, with excellent coffee and a very nice server. My husband was able to get a very nice gluten free waffle which was a real treat for him. My cheese quiche was a delicious fluffy and hot out of the oven quiche. I highly recommend this Inn. If you are looking for an out of the way special place to have a getaway this is the spot!

“Solid Stay”

We had a great stay and overall a good experience staying here. The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The room was nice, pretty comfortable and overall had everything we needed. We stayed in one of the rooms in the carriage house. The shared kitchen is a little odd and could be much nicer… lisää

We had a great stay and overall a good experience staying here. The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The room was nice, pretty comfortable and overall had everything we needed. We stayed in one of the rooms in the carriage house. The shared kitchen is a little odd and could be much nicer with some focused attention. We didn't need the space so it wasn't much of a detractor for us but if you plan on using it it's not really stocked. We ate dinner one night and had two breakfasts while staying. The dinner was pretty good, especially considering the reasonable prices. Both breakfasts were really good with several options to choose from, and the service was nice as well. Overall a good experience and we would stay here again.
