There is a pool and gym not used. The place is very clean, staff super friendly. I would use this on a personal basis for future visits to area.

“A passable option if the price is right or options limited”

Visited with family in December 2024. We have stayed at many hotels in this class across our travels and universally we find two things to be true about HIE and this hotel is no different. 1) they tend to be 10-15% less expensive than equivalent Hilton and Choice hotels. 2) They scrimp in some head-scratching ways to save that money - poor HVAC systems, strange choices at breakfast, short staffing the desks. Generally they offer a less hospitable and premium experience but do so in ways that are obvious to guests so it impacts their experience. One example from this hotel - they seem to have a quota of muffins set out for breakfast by type. In this case - the most popular one was the chocolate chip muffins and they put out 3 each day - and only three - Each day we saw them disappear by about 7:30 am and when we asked if they had others we were told "we don't have anymore". I find it hard to believe that they receive a delivery every day of precisely three - and even if they did - it is clear that no one likes the others so just buy more of what people like. It isn't as if the packaged chocolate chip muffins are more than the "blueberry" or "banana-nut flavored" muffins. This may seem petty but that applies throughout - just little bits of cheapness or lack of guest consideration.
