“Overnight vacation in Chattanooga’s Read House”

Wonderfully restored, centrally located in town center, gracious service, and incredibly priced. May be the best hotel value in Chattanooga. Only negative is I am not a fan of doorless walk-in showers.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Mr. Kirby, the marvelously dressed man impressively dressed in period clothes, to check-out; our entire stay was an unforgettable experience! David at the front desk was a fountain of information, including restaurant suggestions, all the way to activities for our 10 y/o. Every staff member we interacted with was very pleasant and never seemed to lose patience with my many questions, in fact quite the opposite. We stayed in a king suite, which was upgraded from the manor side to the tower. I was told it was a little more upgraded with slightly more space. We were VERY comfortable throughout the entire stay, I would have, however, enjoyed slightly warmer water, but that's subjective. The valets were friendly during every interaction and also gave great advice on things to do in the area. Our son loved the stay, and especially the pool. Since he is still learning how to swim, we really appreciated that the deepest point is 4 and a half feet deep. There is no lifeguard on duty and it is indoors, and we were the only 3 there, surprisingly. We didn't take the tour of the haunted room, or visit the spa, so we'll have to plan another stay in the future! I'd recommend the Read House to families and couples looking to relax and go back in time while enjoying modern luxuries. “Wonderful historic hotel”

This place is just special. If you like history and do not want a cookie cutter experience then this is the place to go in Chattanooga. This place is just special. If you like history and do not want a cookie cutter experience then this is the place to go in Chattanooga. It is a short walk to the Tivoli, the Pickle Barrel, Community Pie and Miller Park. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and the website pics do not do it justice. The staff are wonderfully attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful time. The only thing to know is that the hotel is valet only. Highly recommend.

“Hot water”

The hotel is in a great location with friendly staff. If it wasn’t for the older gentleman out front greeting guests I would have gave it a 2 instead of 3. Our room 657 had almost no hot water. We called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it. He let it run for about 2 minutes then said it … lisää

The hotel is in a great location with friendly staff. If it wasn’t for the older gentleman out front greeting guests I would have gave it a 2 instead of 3. Our room 657 had almost no hot water. We called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it. He let it run for about 2 minutes then said it was fixed and takes awhile to warm up. It was lukewarm at best still. No microwaves in rooms. Pool was freezing when advertised as heated. Beds were very comfortable though!
