“Great option for a one-night stay”

We needed a decent hotel halfway between Charleston SC and Ithaca NY for a road trip that avoided Rt 95. Harrisonburg looked reasonable and the hotel turned out just great. We needed a decent hotel halfway between Charleston SC and Ithaca NY for a road trip that avoided Rt 95. Harrisonburg looked reasonable and the hotel turned out just great. Very pleasant staff, good-sized room with mini fridge and microwave, standard bathroom with single sink, and a bathtub/shower with some of the best water pressure ever. That was a treat! Breakfast buffet was provided but we passed on it, as we were looking for something a little more substantial.

“A slow start to a good experience!”

In above average Marriott Fairfield with a good free breakfast buffet. Most rooms offer a tiny parlor with a huge TV as an extra bonus. Unfortunately, the reception was spotty with the desk staff not being familiar whether the handicap rooms had walk-in showers or tubs. Otherwise a good stop.

The hotel excelled in areas and other areas fell short so I'll break down my overall experience. Customer Service I would offer a 2. I offer this because it was nothing outstanding and when we left there was an additional $20.00 addition to our bill AFTER we physically checked out. The only thing I can think that this could be is for room keys but since we physically checked out and they didn't ask for the plastic cards back (which most hotels don't ask for nor charge for). That is the only think I can think it could be. *Cleanliness: Rated a 4. Overall a clean hotel. *Noise Level: Rated a 4. Overall quiet with some minor hall noise. *Bed Comfort I rate a 1. Felt like sleeping on the floor it was so hard. Woke up stiff. Maybe if your young that isn't a big factor but when you get older, a comfortable bed is important. *Gym and Spa area I would rate a 3. The weight room was pitaful with 2 treadmills and a few free weights. The pool and hot tub seemed nice so it balanced out to a 3. *Breakfast I would rate a 4. It was pretty good over all offering eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt and juice and milk. The lady assigned to it did a nice job keeping it clean as busy as it was. *Overall value a 3. There are better hotels out there for less money. Sorry, but I expected more.
