The Lodge At Kiln Creek Resort

“Amazing!”

The room was perfect, clean, and spacious. The food, beer and service at the NEST was the best, we ate there at least 5 times during our stay. Nicole at the front desk was fantastic. What a great stay!

There's much to like and recommend about this facility. The front-desk person who checked us in was very nice, as were most people we encountered. There's also a golf course, pool, fitness room and restaurant so there's no need to go anywhere if you just want to relax. Our room was also clean and spacious. So why not 5 stars? We were on the second floor and I was surprised that there were plenty of stairs but no elevator. My wife's luggage was very heavy so this mattered, and it was frustrating. We also used our phones as mobile keys but this function inexplicably expired hours before we were to check out so were actually locked out of our room even though we were still guests.

“Nice but not with the $$”

I really liked this place...it was private...had all the conveniences. The food and service was amazing. But it was just over priced. The room was beautiful - but it never got cold with the A/C We never slept well. There was also a humidifier in the middle of our room and it felt damp in our ro… lisää

I really liked this place...it was private...had all the conveniences. The food and service was amazing. But it was just over priced. The room was beautiful - but it never got cold with the A/C We never slept well. There was also a humidifier in the middle of our room and it felt damp in our room the entire time. We emptied it container twice (although never told or asked). Maybe there was a flood in the room? Would've been nice to know... The pool was nice...but people kept coming in and out from the parking lot through the gate. I wondered if this was also the community pool? It did feel very private..almost like anyone from anywhere could drive up and use the pool.

“Not wheelchair accessible”

I just stayed at the Lodge at kiln creek in Newport News Virginia. The wheelchair accessible room is not at all wheelchair accessible. The wheelchair did not fit through the bathroom door. They removed the door to the bathroom so I could roll in. Then the bathroom is still not wheelchair useful. … lisää

I just stayed at the Lodge at kiln creek in Newport News Virginia. The wheelchair accessible room is not at all wheelchair accessible. The wheelchair did not fit through the bathroom door. They removed the door to the bathroom so I could roll in. Then the bathroom is still not wheelchair useful. I rolled in but could not turn the chair so I could use my board to slide on to the toilet. The bed was too high. For that we removed the the box spring some work to do that. The hotel itself is nice. The Poe Poe working there were good. Just not for wheelchair users. The restaurant was great.
