This was our third stay at the Wingate in Short Pump, VA which we have used because it is conveniently close to Grayhaven Winery in Gum Spring, VA where we attended the South African Wine Festival. Our rooms have always been clean and comfortable and the hotel is close to restaurants for a variety of menu options. We've subsequently recommended the facility to other family and friends.

“Comfortable, low cost hotel !”

Very clean, bright, hotel located near a lot of shopping, restaurants, etc. Large Jr suite room with king bed, pullout couch & kitchenette worked with with 3 adults and 1 child. AC worked well in the room during 90+F weather. The hallways were a bit warm / humid. Very good value for the price… lisää

“Convenient, But Dated”

Great location in Short Pump, convenient to restaurants and shopping, but the hotel could use some updates. The decor is a bit dated and worn, the elevator was somewhat concerning, and the rooms are in need of routine maintenance and a good deep cleaning. That being said, the front desk staff is we… lisää

Great location in Short Pump, convenient to restaurants and shopping, but the hotel could use some updates. The decor is a bit dated and worn, the elevator was somewhat concerning, and the rooms are in need of routine maintenance and a good deep cleaning. That being said, the front desk staff is welcoming and helpful and definitely improved my stay.

“Great location and employees, hotel needs work”

Stayed here for three nights. Front desk and breakfast employees were great. Rooms are big. Free breakfast was good, well stocked and employees kept the area clean. We were in room 413. The hotel was quiet. There is a small kitchenette in each room with a microwave, refrigerator, small sink … lisää

Stayed here for three nights. Front desk and breakfast employees were great. Rooms are big. Free breakfast was good, well stocked and employees kept the area clean. We were in room 413. The hotel was quiet. There is a small kitchenette in each room with a microwave, refrigerator, small sink and coffee maker it no coffee pods for the coffeemaker. However, the hotel needs some TLC. Bathrooms have been refurbished but refurbishing was sloppy. Paint spots on floor, woodwork around doors painted sloppily. The thermostat in the room was taped over with a note telling us to use the thermostat on the air conditioning unit, which was extremely loud. Towels in the room were postage size and worn. Excellent water pressure in shower and plenty of hot water. Every single elevator had scrape marks on it halfway up the wall. Thete was a large room off our elevator that had an air conditioner that was falling apart. Hall carpets by elevators were worn. Cracked tiles in elevator. Our room was not cleaned one day we were there. We left the room at 10:16 am and made sure we took the do not disturb sign off the door. The cleaning woman was right outside our door when we left and I told her the room was empty but came back and room was not done. Had to go to the front desk and get clean towels (and report it- Kesia noted the non cleaning in a notebook) If you need a room with two beds, it might be hard to get. It seems many contractors working at some of the building going on in the area stay there so they apparently have most of the two bed rooms booked.
