“great”

I love that Lakeside Park is right by the hotel. We were able to easily walk out our door and get to the lakefront. “The royal treatment!”

Our family stayed at the Lakeside Lodge this past weekend. We enjoyed the friendly service, the cleanliness, and all the amenities. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. “Lovely place all-around”

Wonderful place. For a reasonable price, it's right by the lake, next to a park on the lake, nice balcony in the room with a frontal lake view. “Spacious rooms with a great location”

This hotel had everything we needed for a few days by the lake. Great location, big room (we had a king suite with a pull out couch) and every staff person we encountered was very nice and helpful. We usually stay elsewhere but our regular place was booked up so we tried something new and overall enjoyed it. The only reason I’m docking stars is for two specific reasons. The first is that our bed had some sort of weird contraption on it that I felt was a real safety hazard. It jutted out and was very sharp in two places. I could not understand what it was and was really worried one of us would bump into it and scratch ourself badly. Ive added pics for reference. The second reason was the security of the pool and property. The hotel is right next to the city park, which is excellent with beach access and plenty of space. The hotel gives you wrist bands to where when at the pool (or getting breakfast) and you need your room key to access the pool. On our last day three teenage girls walked over from the lake and tried to get in the pool. They even asked a staff member walking by. He told them he couldn’t (yay!) and they kept asking and he apologized and said the pool was for guests only (woohoo!). As he was talking to them a couple walked past and used their key to get in the pool and the teenagers grabbed the door behind them and walked in. The worst part? He let them and walked away. So they got in, they were shocked they got in too, and called friends and said “we’re in bring our stuff!”. They then got in the pool and a few of their friends joined and said more were coming. This all made my 10 year old son uncomfortable so we left the pool. Was it a huge deal? No. But being that the hotel is right on a public park/beach there really should be stronger protocols for security. I have no idea how big the group got after we left. All in all this is a very spacious room with a kitchenette and a nice balcony in a good location. Staff is very friendly. If our usual spot is booked up again we will be back.

“Poor pet policy”

We are actually repeat customers of this hotel, until our experience today. Despite the website saying to call ahead to accommodate additional pets, and the fact that one of ours is a service animal and the other two are tiny (7 lbs), they refused to accommodate.
