An absolutely amazing visit. Was here for a family friend's wedding. Farhad was kind, gracious, an incredible host. He went out of his way to help me after Hotel.com screwed me over and lied about amending my reservation. He picked me up at the airport, brought cookies to the room and made the most amazing breakfasts. Furthermore, he worked with me so 2 dear family friends did not need to camp in the rain. Thank you !!! I will be back

“A grand Cozy B&B with Class, Care and Creativity”

We visited San Juan Island for the first time June 19-21, 2025 and are we ever glad that we did! We came to the island on the suggestion of good friends who encouraged us to kayak off Roche Harbor [and we did!] and to also enjoy the serene nature, the good eats and the fun shops as well as the art… lisää

We visited San Juan Island for the first time June 19-21, 2025 and are we ever glad that we did! We came to the island on the suggestion of good friends who encouraged us to kayak off Roche Harbor [and we did!] and to also enjoy the serene nature, the good eats and the fun shops as well as the art! Our travel agent booked this B&B and what a what a FIND! Upon arrival, it was a bit of a trek up to this B&B but not far at all. And once we received our host, Farhad's greeting and stepped into this B&B, we could feel an energy of rich history and loving connection. This was a cozy stay in beautiful room with every thoughtful touch to add to our comfort, such as homemade cookies delivered to our room daily! Wow. Our host invited us to join his piano "practice" every evening, offering us a glass of wine served at 7pm just before presenting the most transcendent private piano concert which included Classic, Romantic and Baroque pieces. Wow. This gentleman is a gifted pianist. And if that were not exceptional, there is more. Farhad prepared and presented our breakfast meals with such finesse and grace. We are foodies, and I am especially a food snob of sorts as I like to cook and host quite often. Farhad brought fresh garden ingredients together to delight us with diversity of color, texture and flavor, including, for example, pumpkin pancakes, a crustless frittata, fresh fruit and berry mixes and one morning, a Middle Eastern favorite, Shakshuka, with mixed veggies that had a cumin and turmeric touch. Farhad has just the right balance of welcoming warmth and out-of-site presence. He is full of knowledge about the island and happy to be resourceful as you determine your activities. And if that were not more than anyone would wish for, Farhad easily agreed to do a load of laundry for us upon request, AND he dropped us off at the port as we caught our ferry back to Anacortes. You got the picture. We could have easily enjoyed a full week at this B& B. I will tell any of my friends who visit San Juan Island to stay at the Friday Harbor Grand! WOW

This was my first experience of San Juan Island and The Friday Harbor Grand was such a wonderful part of the experience. Farhad Ghatan, owner/proprietor is one of the most gracious host you could ever hope for. Not only is he an extraordinary chef but also a very talented and accomplished musician. So many personal touches - from the fabulous and delicious breakfast he served us each morning which included freshly baked bread, pancakes one day and waffles the next, fresh fruit and quiches made from eggs from his very own chickens, to the beautifully maintained flower gardens and rooms. He also personally brought a plate of freshly baked cookies right out of the oven each evening to every guest room and offers a glass of wine while he entertains his guests nightly in the parlor on his grand piano. As my friend and I found out on our “girls weekend,” Farhad is a highly regarded and respected member of this lovely Friday Harbor community on San Juan Island. It seemed that everywhere we went while touring the island, people knew him and absolutely love him. This is definitely the best B and B experience I’ve ever had and will definitely be a returning guest in the future and bringing family and friends when the opportunity arises.
