Not only is this hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown Huntington, WV, (close to the university, entertainment, etc.), the staff are exceptional. This was my second stay at the hotel, and it convinced me I'll never choose different accommodations when visiting this city. Though the building is clearly older, it is well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. Depending on where your room is, you might enjoy a view of the Ohio River or the cheery storefronts across the street. I was staying with a family member, and we each had our own reservation. Upon checking in, one of us was given a room on the fifth floor and the other, a room on the second. The latter room was not to either of our liking as the view was obstructed by a large tree and views are important to us. Accordingly, I went to the front desk and asked if I might have another room, hopefully on the fifth floor, even if it meant waiting until one was ready. The woman at the counter (I regret I didn't get her name) cheerfully agreed and asked me to stop by in about 30 minutes or so and she would see what she could do. Voila! Half an hour later, I had my own room on the fifth floor which, like the other, boasted a commanding view of the Ohio River. This is a clean, comfortable, safe hotel with plenty of parking and plenty of good people on staff. Regardless of who we encountered (cleaning staff, maintenance, or front desk) all were pleasant, accommodating, and quite friendly. Impressive! Also of note is the fact the hotel is located directly across the street from the Marshall Health Network Arena, should you be visiting for an event there.

“Bug in room - pest control management issue”

My stay for the most part was good minus tonight when I saw a large insect in my room or bug . I am spending all night trying to do pest control . I called the front desk they said they didn’t not have anyone who could tend to it right now . I am not sure if the insect bites if it is harmful or not… lisää

Minus that unfortunate incident my stay was pretty good and the location is nice . I am here for a business conference .

“Probably best choice but aging”

Probably best hotel in Huntington but showing age !! Outside needs a good update to cleanliness and landscaping… beat up. Very little grass for a $$ dog fee Housekeeping never left correct towels always had to ask at desk Lounge on 4th floor had broken coffee machine again, no yogurt, no bottled wa… lisää

Why offer it? Place needs a deep clean!!! Outside used to have lovely flower planters … now filled with rocks. Parking is very tight… 8 E spots … never had more than 2 filled. You will have to park in an overflow garage. Staff is very helpful and professional.

“Great hotel but slacking staff”

I stayed here for a 2 night stay. Upon arrival I discovered that there was zero parking spaces available but there were a total of 8 completely empty EV parking spaces, which is where I parked. I stayed here for a 2 night stay. Upon arrival I discovered that there was zero parking spaces available but there were a total of 8 completely empty EV parking spaces, which is where I parked. Upon checking in I was told bluntly “if you park there you’ll be towed, go find another spot in the nearby garage.” Not sure why the hotel wastes valuable spots that just go vacant. Upon checking into my room I discovered that the extra pillows I requested via the chat feature with the hotel were not delivered even though I was told they would be. Utilizing the lounge on the 4th floor the coffee machine was not working. When I got breakfast in the morning, I was told I had to pay for a coffee refill. I really could care less about the actual cost but as an ambassador member that was already having breakfast in the restaurant and had to pay for a to go refill for drip coffee was just a little crazy. Overall, the hotel is in a great location, the rooms were clean and quiet, the amenities were somewhat plentiful but it was evident the staff could care less about the overall experience of the guest.
