We used Old Faithful Inn in July 2026 as a lower loop staging area to explore Yellowstone. We loved the location, close proximity to a variety of sites. The history and atmosphere were great. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The only thing we'd do different is to request a room that faces east, the summer sun setting kept our room warm well into the night. Larger fans and the ability to open the windows more would have helped.

“Worthwhile location, horrific food.”

The location is perfect, and worth putting up with everything else. Walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything all around you. Try to get the top floor. Like the rest of the park, the food is absolutely terrible. Avoid the dining room. It’s repulsive.

The Inn is an historic and architectural gem - the lobby is flat out amazing. The rooms in the west wing - not so much. The Inn is an historic and architectural gem - the lobby is flat out amazing. The rooms in the west wing - not so much. We knew going in that there was no air conditioning, luckily it was relatively cool. But - the place was extremely noisy. Our upstairs neighbors were clearly audible, as were the hordes of kids racing through the hallways. The Park was mobbed over the 4th of July holiday which contributed to the noise. Morning coffee was reachable by trudging through 2 long halls and navigating the lobby. Food was very expensive and average at best. It was cool to be close to the Old Faithful geyser basin, but we paid a very premium price for a not great hotel room.

“Unreliable and unprofessional”

got to hotel and they said “housekeeping told them rooms would not be ready at check in time” and it does not seem right, all they could do was say “we’re sorry.” As a paying customer, you have to leave at 11 (no budging) but they are allowed to re-write the rules. Also, long lines for ice cream… lisää

Also, long lines for ice cream due to 1 employee, but there are about 7 of them at the gift shop.
