Overall, we really liked this hotel!

“BEAUTIFUL PEACEFUL SERENE”

I would definitely go back I highly recommend this BW. The pictures do no justice. So convenient to the park and free shuttle. Pool area is beautiful. “A Few Tips About this Zion Best Western”

Located in Springdale, this newer Best Western is a delight. Situated between the mountains, the views are majestic. Located by Springdale’s bus stop #4, it is easy to travel to the National Park on the city’s free bus system. Walking to the entrance will take you about 20 minutes. The foyer area is inviting with a number of stunning pictures. The breakfast area is also located in the foyer area. One could sit inside or outside along the patio area. This Best Western is well designed with elevators to the second floor. Our room was indeed clean, the AC cold, a large TV, a good size refrigerator and I loved the walk-in shower. There is also an inviting pool on premise for those warm days. This hotel is a tad expensive, but I think all the surrounding hotels are about the same price. This Best Western is a tier-up from the normal Best Westerns. Not far is our favorite restaurant called “Oscars Café.” Mexican in style, they do serve plenty of food. Recommend sharing a plate for this place. Oscars is famous for their “carrot cake” for those that like dessert. The only complaint was that there were two soup cylinder containers that were empty in our room. This lapse did not falter our rating, though, with a strong 5 Stars. “Nice grounds, OK rooms, blah breakfast, poor cleaning staff - won't return to this property”

Well, this did not turn out to be a great hotel. The good - great location close to shuttle to the park entrance, beautiful grounds, nice pool and hot tub, nice desk and breakfast staff. Well, this did not turn out to be a great hotel. The good - great location close to shuttle to the park entrance, beautiful grounds, nice pool and hot tub, nice desk and breakfast staff. The mediocre - breakfast was sooo mediocre it made Marriott Fairfield Inns look sumptuous. The bad: 1. slide rail based pulled down shade was dislodged and could not effectively be reinstalled, it was just obviously just ignored by cleaning staff, ops, and management 2. cleaning staff - second morning we didn’t get out of room until noon - cleaning staff in hallway - we noted a basket with towels in the hallway in front of our door - we said good morning and told them we were leaving (expecting them to clean the room since they saw us leave) - returned that evening and the basket was still there, the room had not been cleaned, the coffee not replenished, etc. Told desk and response was “oh, they don’t work in the afternoon” - told desk they were there when we left - same response. 3. cleaning staff - third morning - made sure tag was not on the door, and went to breakfast - came back and room had not been cleaned, but towels were removed from bathroom (same basket of towels left sitting where we had put it when they didn’t clean the second morning - left and came back late afternoon - nothing changed. Bathroom sink not wiped, faucet not cleaned, floor not wiped/cleaned, carpet not vacuumed (we left a couple of bits of cotton in two places) 4. there were not one but TWO requests for tips for cleaning staff on the counters in the room 5. this was $400 per night! So, if you are considering visiting this overused national park, be advised it is glorious, but way overused. And, that the area in Springdale is quite the tourist trap. Not terrible, just has moved so far upscale it is no longer a fun place to visit. If you are still considering Springdale - stay in Virgin, instead. Far lower prices, only a ten minute drive, and lots more options. If you must stay in Springdale, find a more consistent place than this BestWestern. Interestingly, perhaps the “+” on their attempt to rebrand relates to the grounds, but not everything?
