“The potential is there.”

This place has a lot of potential, it’s just not quite up to par in my opinion. The rooms were a great size and the mezzanine floor meant we could put our daughter to bed and sit down stairs and talk. That was a huge bonus to us. This place has a lot of potential, it’s just not quite up to par in my opinion. The rooms were a great size and the mezzanine floor meant we could put our daughter to bed and sit down stairs and talk. That was a huge bonus to us. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were a nice touch. The location is great and they also offered a free glow worm tour. We didn’t take it as it was a bit late for our little one, the thought was appreciated though. The areas I felt it lacked in were 1. Staff not particularly attentive or available (office was mostly unattended). 2. The bathroom floor when we arrived was wet and not actually clean. Hair and dirt was piled up in the corners. We actually asked to have it Re cleaned the following day. 3. There are printed notes with instructions and rules EVERYWHERE. It was like being in a dormitory. One note in particular was instructing you to wash and put away all dishes or you would be charged an additional fee. This is a motel not an Airbnb so I really don’t think it’s appropriate. We only used glasses so it wasn’t really a hassle but out of interest I checked all the crockery and cutlery and they were all dirty. Unsurprising when guests are rushing to leave. The staff need to check! A little bit of effort would go a long way improving this motel.

The only reason I can’t give 5 circles is because my room (#4) was so tiny, they had to give me a separate room across the hall (#4A) in which to put my luggage & hang up my coats! But it’s clean & the bed was the most comfy of the trip. And it’s only a :07 drive to Lake Matheson N.P. so you can a… lisää

The only reason I can’t give 5 circles is because my room (#4) was so tiny, they had to give me a separate room across the hall (#4A) in which to put my luggage & hang up my coats! But it’s clean & the bed was the most comfy of the trip. And it’s only a :07 drive to Lake Matheson N.P. so you can arrive there in the pre-sunrise moments for the “View of Views!”

A fairly basic site with not too many pitches available. Facilities were OK but nothing special, being poorly lit and not the cleanest. Overall adequate but no more. They offered a walk to a local glow-worm cave which we didn't do but which might have made the stay more exciting. The only way to really see the glacier is to hike to it or go by helicopter.
