“Beautiful Place and amazing hosts”

“Feels like staying with an old friend”
Lovely b&b located in an ideal spot to walk into Takaka and to reach the highlights of the Golden Coast and Abel Tasman. Room was great with a comfy bed and plenty of space. Everything was spotless. “Family visit to Takaka”
We booked on a chance as not a usual user of b and bs but very pleased with choice. Shady rest is a quirky property full of character and a really good host in Mark . Breakfast is good and simple with the best scrambled eggs you will taste. I can recommend shady rest without any reservations.

A charming, very traditional bed and breakfast in a historic building. Mark couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Clean and comfortable The rate includes a terrific breakfast. Highly recommend this as your stay option in Tākaka.
