“Just the Best”

The stay here was amazing. Rooms were very clean and tidy. The staff were always helpful and obliging, nothing was too much trouble Especially the front person Kelly. She was alwya happy and smiling. I would stay here again for sure

This motel is really dated, but adequate, the unit was clean and the beds comfortable. The shower pressure is good, and the unit was very quiet despite being on a busy road. I wouldn't classify it as being close to the CBD,certainly not walking distance to any restaurants or other shops.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights at Whanganui and we booked at the Burwood because it was one of very few places available because of a local festival during the weekend. My wife and I spent a couple of nights at Whanganui and we booked at the Burwood because it was one of very few places available because of a local festival during the weekend. Turns out we couldn't have found a better pleace! The motel sits far enough from main street -Victoria Avenue- but not too far. So one can still walk to the cafes and does shopping while staying in a quiet place away from noisy roads. The rooms are clean and large enough with daily house keeping. Wide parking space for each flat, but the highlight of the place is the owner, who was really helpful and raises the bar as far as customer services and attentivness goes. Next time we're in Whanganui, we won't have to consider other accomodation options.

“Check reception hours, but comfortable place to stay”

Room was spacious and well-appointed, with a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and warm, and air-con in a good location for the room. The little kitchenette had everything I had needed. Received a call on the day of check-in (Sunday) to "remind" me that the reception is open only until 3pm … lisää

Room was spacious and well-appointed, with a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and warm, and air-con in a good location for the room. The little kitchenette had everything I had needed. Received a call on the day of check-in (Sunday) to "remind" me that the reception is open only until 3pm (meaning check-in is available for only one hour on a Sunday). I had not received this information previously (only that check in is after 2pm), but luckily I was arriving in time. Worth double-checking your arrival time with the receptionist, just in case. Unfortunately this also meant that I was not able to do laundry - they have in-building laundry but it needs reception to pay and set-up etc. With reception closed, laundry is basically closed. This had been a draw-card of my choice to stay here, so a bit disappointing.
