Motel Six

“Great central Spot.”

We stayed at Motel 6 for 2 nights early in May. Everything was clean and tidy and the price was very fair. The managers were very friendly and helpful. We left some shoes behind and they were really great in getting them sent to us. We will definitely stay there next time we are in Whangarei.

Caring and friendly owners and staff. Waited up for me with a late arrival! The rooms are well appointed, and the owners generously provided what people might need in the kitchen, bath, living room, and bedroom. Even free cookies! What impressed us the most were the details. The rooms are well appointed, and the owners generously provided what people might need in the kitchen, bath, living room, and bedroom. Even free cookies! What impressed us the most were the details. Beautiful curtains, flower arrangements, real wall art, fans, heaters, dual-control electric blankets, and fun pillows for the couch. All of this makes the rooms feel like home. And everything was exceptionally clean. Having stayed in 14 different hotels in New Zealand over the last month, Motel Six stands out! Just book it if you are staying in Whangarei.

“Older Motel, but quite adequate for most peoples tastes.”

I spent 2 nights at Motel Six. VERY friendly and welcoming owners/managers, who are very keen and eager to make a success of it. There is no getting around that the part of the motel I stayed in, is quite an old building and most of the fixtures and fittings are probably original. However, everything worked, nothing was broken the room was to an acceptable standard of cleanliness and the bed was very comfortable - one of the best beds I have slept in in dozens of motels across the Country. I was in a block of 4 rooms behind the main motel building, which made it an exceptionally quiet area, well away from the busy road. There is a school right next door, but the only time you hear the school children is from about 0830 before school starts and at break times, but most guests would not be trying to sleep by that time, so not a problem for me. I would certainly stay in this motel again, if I do another tour of NZ.
