Stayed here for one night before catching the ferry back to North Island the following day. The driveway up to the hotel from the street is very steep and the on-site parking spaces were quite tight. But my room was OK. There was a small fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. I think the microwave also grilled but didn’t try it out. The main issue for me in the room that I had was that there were no power sockets within reach of the bed so I could not charge my phone and have it near me by the bed, had to leave it the other side of the room and therefore when I woke in the night I could not see what time it was or turn off my alarm! My room got the sun during the day so was quite warm when I arrived and there was a heater in the room but when I turned it on later in the evening it made the most horrendous noise, drowning out the TV. And the water pressure was the poorest I have experienced during my six-week New Zealand stay. Despite the name of the motel, I did not have a harbour view, I had a view of the back of the row of motel rooms in front of my room which was a shame. The WiFi was reasonable quality which is probably the best thing I can find to say about this place.

“Paid for the view”

Pros- view was great from the top unit. Unit was clean and bed was comfy. Water pressure good and hot. Cons- unit was overpriced for what it was. Small frig didn’t have freezer along the width of frig, just a small box at the end with only room for the ice tray. Take notice of the reviews re the st… lisää

Small frig didn’t have freezer along the width of frig, just a small box at the end with only room for the ice tray. Take notice of the reviews re the steep driveway and tight parking. Rethink if you have a big vehicle. Probably would pick something else next time.

“You stay for the view”

Best thing about the motel is the view. We stayed in room 10. Check in is quick and was billed for the room up front. Wouldn’t stay again. Parking difficult. Especially if on the top level. Rooms are basic with a mixture of furniture and need some minor repairs - shower head leaking and tv is l… lisää

Best thing about the motel is the view. We stayed in room 10. Check in is quick and was billed for the room up front. Wouldn’t stay again. Parking difficult. Especially if on the top level. Rooms are basic with a mixture of furniture and need some minor repairs - shower head leaking and tv is leans to one side (did try to fix). Basic amenities. Hard bed. Outdoor table had ash on the table. No blind on the window by the entrance so very bright when the sun rises.

“Not a bad little spot near the harbour”

Our room had a great view over the harbour and the service/ welcome was very friendly. They kindly stored our luggage while we did the QCS trek. Our room had a little kitchenette with fridge, and a big bed. The decor was perhaps a little old fashioned/ dated.
