I had an absolutely fabulous stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, Andy, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was incredibly friendly, helpful and genuinely invested in making the guests feel welcome. The room and entire property is spotless and well maintained. Location is another plus, there is a great restaurant next door. The view from this hotel is stunning, also. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

“Good place to stay in Bluff”

We did not expect much as the reviews were not so great. Our room was very decent, had robes, and a heater in the bathroom (was nice but very dusty and needed cleaning). We did not expect much as the reviews were not so great. Our room was very decent, had robes, and a heater in the bathroom (was nice but very dusty and needed cleaning). Good hot shower and a large fridge in the room. The breakfast was good too and in addition to the continental offering, we could order eggs which were included. The gal at the check in was very nice and helpful. This is a good option in Bluff as it is close to the ferry going to Stewart Island. to note: there is no elevator in this hotel, only stairs

“Lands End is a good place to start.”

If was little remote but then what does the name imply. I never saw it in daylight until saw the photo here as arrived in dark and departed in the dark each day. My stay was very pleasant. If was little remote but then what does the name imply. I never saw it in daylight until saw the photo here as arrived in dark and departed in the dark each day. My stay was very pleasant. I arrived and was asked had eaten as tried to ring me earlier with ni luck. Had the wrong number as I did not book it. He managed to find me some dinner and was was leaving for site early next morning he found me a great breakfast which I took to my room each morning. Room was very comfortable and bed was very comfortable as well. Room was well maintained and painted, has good heating and the bathroom etc was pleasant and vey clean. Was hard to do work as the little table in the cupboard was not that sturdy. There is a lounge area with fire place that can sit and talk with others. Would come back again.

“Worst breakfast ever.”

This is a small hotel with 6 rooms only. The problems began at check in. The woman at the desk spoke barely any English (she was trying her best) but other guests were becoming frustrated at being unable to get answers to simple questions. This is a small hotel with 6 rooms only. The problems began at check in. The woman at the desk spoke barely any English (she was trying her best) but other guests were becoming frustrated at being unable to get answers to simple questions. I was asked to point at my name on a list to be allocated a room. The only word spoken were “Name?” and “Breakfast” while she pointed at a sign giving breakfast times. I had to work my own way out to my room - luckily it was a small hotel because I didn’t see any directional signs. I was in the “Private suite” which consisted of two connected bedrooms with the bathroom coming off the second. In the entrance hallway was a locked door labelled “store room”, or something similar. The windows weren’t huge but gave a view over the sea. The bed was comfortable enough. The surrounds were noisy during the day time but quiet overnight. Breakfast the next morning was likely my worst ever hotel breakfast. There was a jug of orange liquid that tasted of sugar and industrial solvents. I doubt that it had any connection with a fruit of any kind. I requested a poached egg, which was a foolishly optimistic choice. If it had been cooked any longer it would have burned. It was dry and rubbery. It was served with half a slice of toast with a slab of butter on it. One bite was more than enough. When I was leaving I packed up my car before handing in my key. I went to check my room for any forgotten belongings and it was already being cleaned. Efficient, I guess. This was not the worst place that I have ever stayed. Should you choose to visit Bluff (which I wouldn’t recommend) you will at least get a good sleep.
