The pancakes at breakfast are lovely, and the staff are really warm and kind. A smoking room is a great idea, and myself and other guests of course make use of it! The beds are really nice and comfy, and the walk into Rostov city centre is great from my perspective, although I didn't explore the western part of the city where this hotel is located. The only comment I have is that the water in the bath was a little cloudy. For restaurants, if you don't plan to have dinner at the hotel (which I do recommend, as well as its wine), I preferred to explore the centre, but it's easy to get there.

This hotel was located 15min taxi drive from centre and around 25min taxi drive from the airport. Hotel was clean and and the service was brilliant from start to finish. This hotel was located 15min taxi drive from centre and around 25min taxi drive from the airport. Hotel was clean and and the service was brilliant from start to finish. The receptionist greeted me on arrival spoke little English but went out of her way to make me feel very safe and welcome. My arrival was also greeted with private police who stayed at the hotel for the duration of my stay for my safety. If I was to travel again I would stay here.

I stayed there overnight in April, and my impression was that the property badly needed funding. I stayed there overnight in April, and my impression was that the property badly needed funding. The rooms had seen better days; the carpeting was fray and spotted, and the bed was pretty narrow and hard. The rooms were clean, no worries, but the overall impression was still somewhat depressing. The sound insulation left much to be desired too. The staff were courteous but, in order to get assistance, I had to search for them girls multiple times in a single day! Moreover, while the place offered an excellent dinner (see my review of the eponymous restaurant), their breakfast was subpar, first and foremost in terms of, let me say, substantiality. In particular, when I went for breakfast around fifteen minutes before the deadline, there was practically nothing left. Ain't it a disgrace?! Additionally, do keep in mind that if you park your vehicle in their inner yard, you'll have to carry and/or roll your luggage all the way to the main entrance, which is around the corner and where a steep fifteen-step outdoor staircase will await you, while there's no porter service available. To cut the long story short, I wouldn't choose them again. (The picture here—Platov, etc.—is not at all that of the hotel. It's one of the wings of the Rostov-on-Don air terminal. The hotel's façade looks totally different, albeit not worse.)
