“First Class!”

The hotel, the town of Cannigioni, its small town beach and the beautiful weather made for a first class holiday in this lovely corner of Sardinia. We fell in love with Resort Cala di Falco and would definitely return, given the chance! We stayed in a junior suite with balcony and sea view on a half board basis. The suite was very comfortable, with a nice big bed, plenty of wardrobe space, a lounge, with mini bar and a large bathroom with efficient shower. The air con was super powerful (so good, in fact, that we turned off one of the two units before bedtime as it was just too cold). The view from our sizeable and very secluded balcony was stunning, whether absorbing that first view of the day, the bright sunshine and the start of business for the many boats on the water, or the still of the night, with the moon reflected on the calm sea. The staff in the hotel were all attentive and professional, but warm and welcoming, the food was plentiful and consistently of great quality. We’re not normally fans of buffets but this hotel challenged our views, due to the wide and delicious selection on offer. We didn’t even venture outside of the resort for dinner (which had been our original plan). We twice ate in the Martin Pescatore a la carte restaurant (supplementary charges) for a couple of extra special meals. Wherever we ate we were never disappointed, we could always see the sea, and although the hotel seemed pretty full, it never felt crowded or too busy (same at the pool). As I’ve said, the staff were all great, but a special shout out goes to Laura who looked after us royally, knowing our table and drinks preferences after just a day or two, and the friendly pool bar team; our pre dinner drinks by the pool became a daily ritual, further enhanced by the live music, complimentary snacks and (again) the sea views, in that golden light at the end of the day. The last plaudits go to the beach experience. The hotel cordons off a private area with sun loungers and umbrellas, literally at the water’s edge, ably managed by a lifeguard. He greeted us warmly, and brought round a basket of fruit once we’d settled each day, to choose a chilled snack. I wish we had his name, but hope he will recognise our comments, if only by the fact we always chose (delicious) peaches! He really was a charming and sincere young man, taking time to chat with us. If you visit the area, you must take one of the many boat trips to the Maddalena Archipelago, which is beautiful. If you visit Resort Cala Di Falco, it too is beautiful, and you won’t be disappointed!

“Spacious, well-equipped apartment in a great resort”

A Cala di Falco apartment was recommended by our travel agent when we decided to visit Sardinia, and definitely didn’t disappoint. “Just fine!”

When we arrived at this hotel around 10pm, the music was thumping with a Europop DJ around the pool. It was so loud and there were no guests enjoying it. It drove guests away from the pool. “Expensive”

The hotel is quite quirky and well laid out. Our room looked pretty on the outside with flowers all around it. Inside it was quite basic and could do with an update.
