My family and I had an excellent 10 night stay at crystal cove. The facilities are excellent with numerous water sports available. The hotel is located next to a lovely beach, has several swimming pools, along with TVs showing the World Cup. The facilities in the hotel rooms are also very good, and have been recently refurbished with a large bathroom and balcony The food was also great, with plenty of options for all at breakfast lunch and dinner. The location of the hotel was also fantastic. Finally, the staff at Crystal Cove were impeccable. Kevin and Jonathan were extremely welcoming and made us feel at home upon arrival. All the bar/food staff were great, however Diane, Michael and Hazel particularly stood out with their warmth and friendliness. Finally, Richard was extremely professional and courteous. He listened to all of our feedback and also checked in with us on several occasions during our stay to ensure all His service, along with all the staff at Crystal Cove’s service made the holiday really enjoyable. Overall, a great experience and I am looking forward to visiting Barbados and Crystal Cove again!

My wife and I have just returned from 11 nights at Crystal Cove. On the whole it was another amazing holiday, with this being our third visit to this hotel. There were a few things that needed improving but credit where it’s due having spoken to the manger Richard we saw things change while we were there, for example the beach grill open each lunch time and more choice in the restaurants in the evening. We have been to Barbados a number of times due to the welcoming nature of the people, they really do care and don’t just pay lip service when things perhaps go wrong or can be improved, hence the 5 start review The recent refurbishment is great but do agree with previous reviews about the extractor fan in the bathroom which seems to come on and off when it feels like it and can be noisy. The water taxi is a massive plus for this resort as can travel and spend time at Waves and Treasure beach so get to experience others hotels and food should you wish. We met some lovely people while at the resort with everyone having time for chat, laugh and joke. Would we go back, yes absolutely hopefully next year! Thank you Richard and team.

Overall Experience We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Crystal Cove, Barbados, where we chose to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. This hotel holds a special place in our hearts as it is where we spent our honeymoon ten years ago, so returning was always going to be emotional and memorable. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday, made unforgettable memories with friends and family, celebrated a very special anniversary, and experienced the warm Bajan hospitality that keeps drawing us back to Barbados. Crystal Cove may not be perfect yet, but with its fantastic staff, beautiful setting, lovely rooms, and commitment to improving, I have no doubt it has a very bright future ahead. Arrival & Service The first thing to say is that the staff and management have been absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, even upgrading us to an oceanfront room with a balcony. A special mention must go to Richard, the manager, and his team, who were always approachable, helpful, and genuinely keen to ensure guests had a great experience. The beach team are also fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend places to visit around the island. Accommodation The rooms are lovely, comfortable, and well-presented, and waking up to those stunning Caribbean views every morning was simply magical. Location & Resort Atmosphere The location is beautiful, with a lovely beach, crystal-clear waters, and the relaxed atmosphere that makes Barbados such a special destination. Dining We also enjoyed the benefit of being able to use the Marriott “Dine Around” programme, allowing us to visit sister properties such as Waves Hotel and Treasure Beach, where we enjoyed some excellent meals. That said, there are still areas where Crystal Cove can improve. The food offering at the resort itself is currently quite limited and, in our opinion, doesn’t yet match the standards of some of the other Marriott properties on the island. We found ourselves preferring meals at Waves and Treasure Beach, which offered a greater variety and higher overall quality. Unfortunately, our biggest disappointment came on our 10th Wedding Anniversary evening. We had pre-booked a special anniversary dinner, but the service fell well below expectations. We waited approximately an hour for our starter, a crab cake, which arrived stone cold in the middle. We then waited a further hour for our pre-ordered main course, which unfortunately arrived only lukewarm. To add to the disappointment, I never received the resort’s signature anniversary dessert that had been arranged as part of the celebration. We had also been expecting some of the special touches that had been discussed, including room decoration with petals and towel art, a card, and a bottle of champagne on ice, but none of these materialised. It was particularly disappointing as this was the reason for our visit and a milestone celebration that we had been looking forward to for many months. However, what happened next demonstrated the quality of the management team. Richard was made aware of the issues and, despite it being his day off, he personally came to find us on the beach the following morning to apologise. It was clear that he genuinely felt terrible that we, along with several other diners that evening, had been let down. Richard and his team did everything they could to make things right. I was presented with my signature anniversary cake at lunch the following day, and when we arrived for breakfast the next morning our table had been beautifully decorated with flowers to make the occasion feel special. As a further gesture of goodwill, Richard arranged for us to keep our room until it was time to leave for the airport, at no additional charge, allowing us to enjoy our final day in comfort. While the anniversary evening itself was disappointing, the way Richard and the team handled the situation afterwards showed genuine care, professionalism and a real desire to put things right. Areas for Improvement It is important to remember that Crystal Cove has only recently reopened under Marriott management following a major refurbishment and has only been operating under Marriott for around four months. Improvements are clearly being made all the time, and the management team are actively listening to guest feedback. My advice to anyone staying here is simple: if you have feedback, share it with management. They genuinely want to know what guests think and are actively working to improve the experience. It’s far more productive than complaining amongst yourselves, and from what we’ve seen, they really do listen. Despite the issues we experienced, particularly on our anniversary evening, we would still like to thank Richard and his team for their efforts throughout our stay. The warmth of the staff, the beautiful location, the lovely rooms, the fantastic beach team, and the improvements already being made give us confidence that Crystal Cove can become one of the very best resorts on the island. We arrived as returning guests and left with wonderful memories of Barbados once again. No hotel gets everything right all of the time but it’s how problems are dealt with that truly matters, and on that front Richard and his team showed exactly why we would consider returning in the future. Special Recognition There are a few members of staff who deserve individual recognition for the outstanding service they provided during our stay. Crystall consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful guest experience. She arranged champagne for our anniversary dinner and made sure I was able to pre-order a special meal for the occasion. Throughout our stay she was warm, professional and genuinely cared about making our visit memorable. Devon never once forgot that we were celebrating our anniversary. One of the most touching moments was when he placed the anniversary stones in the pool and then came to find us personally to make sure we didn’t miss seeing them. It was a small gesture that meant a great deal and showed the pride he takes in looking after guests. A special mention must also go to Harrietta, who looked after our room during our stay. She was attentive, friendly and took great care in ensuring everything was perfect each day. When she discovered that we were celebrating our anniversary, she was genuinely upset that she hadn’t been informed beforehand, explaining that had she known, she would have ensured our room was beautifully decorated for the occasion. That reaction alone spoke volumes about how much she cares about her guests and the pride she takes in her work. I would also like to recognise Lisa Ward, the Entertainment Manager, who welcomed us back with open arms. What made this particularly special was that she remembered us from our previous stay all those years ago when we honeymooned at Crystal Cove. That personal touch meant so much to us and immediately made us feel like returning members of the Crystal Cove family rather than just another set of guests. Another person who deserves recognition is Miss Hall, the Operations Manager. She was the person who took the brunt of the complaints following the disappointing anniversary dinner service. Rather than dismissing concerns, she listened carefully, took the matter seriously, and ensured that Richard was made aware of the situation immediately. Her professionalism and willingness to act quickly should be commended. These individuals are a credit to Crystal Cove and are exactly the reason why, despite some of the challenges we experienced, we left Barbados with such fond memories. Their kindness, thoughtfulness and dedication to guest satisfaction did not go unnoticed. Looking Forward As Crystal Cove continues its journey under Marriott management, I genuinely hope that Richard and his team will continue to build on the many positives that already exist within the resort. My biggest area of concern remains the evening dining experience. While there were some enjoyable meals during our stay, the consistency and quality of the evening food service needs attention. I would love to see a broader selection of menu choices available to guests, offering greater variety throughout longer stays. I also feel that the resort would benefit from reviewing the evening kitchen operation to ensure that food is delivered consistently, promptly and at the standard expected of a Marriott property. Given the number of complaints received on the evening of our anniversary dinner, this is clearly an area that deserves careful consideration. The foundations are all there for Crystal Cove to become one of the finest resorts on the island. The location is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, the staff are genuinely caring, and the management team clearly want to get things right. With continued improvements to the food offering and dining experience, I believe Crystal Cove has an incredibly bright future ahead.

The staff are great - standout members are - Crystal, always got a smile and always there to serve - definitely management material. Dwania in the restaurant, again a smiler and nothing is too much trouble. Diane is another asset in the restaurant. The rooms and the hotel have recently been fully refurbished and it is lovely, the colours and the decor are full of Caribbean joy. The water sports guys are brilliant the service offer is incredible. Donuts are free, water skiing is free, hobie sail boats - they will take you out at the drop of hat. Lots of water in bottles in buckets of ice dotted around the place or from the bar. The water taxi - you can use this free and have a mini cruise up past Sandy LAne, if you go to the colony (last stop) it is right next to Folkestone marine reserve for lots of snorkelling. The Bad - the TV is terrible, keeps buffering and resetting itself and half the channels don’t work - just say no signal. The WiFi is also lacking stability and drops frequently. In the bathroom is a mirror that has a LED strip at the bottom that is permanently on throwing light into the bedroom at night - there is no way to turn it off. The extractor fan in the bathroom goes off every 30 mins or so and is very loud. There is a lack of entertainment space, singers are put by the pool and people are required to sit on the sunbeds. No recycling bins to put plastic water bottles in - they tell they employ a company to separate waste - but it is contaminated with food waste and I saw one guest put a nappy in the bin. So it can’t be recycled. The Ugly - the food and the restaurant. The list of issues here is endless and the big question is where to start 1) raw food being served - burgers not cooked properly and one family had chicken nuggets that are raw in the middle. 2) food variety is poor - 3 salads on average a day - generally the lettuce and other items cut into the tiniest pieces, the best day was when we had a bowl of whole lettuce leaves, another bowl of cucumber sliced, and another of tomato slices. But that only appeared 1 day and never again. 2-3 types of dessert only and one of those is fruit salad. 3) ice cream - there is no signage saying ice cream is available on request - it is hidden away. We discovered that you could ask for some and had to tell other guests with children that it was available. 4) on one à la carte night we waited approx 45 mins for our main to arrive and eventually gave up. 5) no bowls or plates at breakfast time for the fruit or cheese stations - although this was resolved when I raised this issue - but a guest should not have to raise it. 6) this is the worrying one - a guest collapsed one evening during dinner service and the restaurant staff were unable and seemed unwilling to deal with the situation. It was left to other guests to support him as he dropped in and out on consciousness and go to reception to get them to call for an Ambulance. None of the staff appear to be trained on basic first aid. The restaurant supervisor even tried to seat a family of four next to the situation. Would I go back - potentially - the hotel has only been open since February 2026 following its refit and has a lot of teething troubles. Making sure they have experienced staff in place is a primary issue - the night we had to wait 45 mins and gave up there were 2 chefs on duty dealing with 50 covers - both were young and lacked experience. After that night we started seeing older chefs coming to the hotel and the food and service improved - so they are trying.
