Just returned from a really lovely week staying at Tierra Magnifique, the staff were fantastic - taking the trouble to remember names, food and drink preferences etc and the chef/kitchen staff were willing to prepare requests that were not on the menu. The setting is beautiful including a lovely open air pavilion, looking out to sea, for yoga classes and I'd particularly like to record how much I enjoyed the classes run by Anna, so many hotels appear to offer yoga classes but on arrival you find that not to be the case. On this occasion they were run every morning, Anna made them suitable for all levels - a lovely way to start the day.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. We were greeted with a welcome “cacique”, the local drink and some yummy guacamole. Our room was spectacular! From the moment we arrived, the staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. We were greeted with a welcome “cacique”, the local drink and some yummy guacamole. Our room was spectacular! The views, out of this world. Dinner was incredible, each dish in the menu is linked to Costa Rica’s culture. The chef researches each one and learns from the “abuelas”. He personally came out to greet us and explained my gnocchi in detail. I wish I would’ve taken a video! We observed how other guests interacted with the owners and staff and it appeared to me as if they all arrived as guests and left as longtime friends. The band! They were just amazing. This was just our first night!

“An incredible experience”

I don’t even know where to begin, this hotel is one of our favorites! The staff are incredibly friendly, personable and helpful. Juan and Alexandra were so helpful with recommendations, helping us book excursions and dinner reservations. There are only 13 rooms so the staff truly make you feel like… lisää

I don’t even know where to begin, this hotel is one of our favorites! The staff are incredibly friendly, personable and helpful. Juan and Alexandra were so helpful with recommendations, helping us book excursions and dinner reservations. There are only 13 rooms so the staff truly make you feel like you are at home. At times it felt like we were the only ones there, this was probably since it was “off” season. The rooms are beautiful, especially the open concept shower, you feel like you are showering in the middle of the rainforest! Just make sure to keep you doors/windows closed so critters don’t find their way in! We had a few friends make their way in. We were able to hear and see Howler monkeys close up. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and filling, our waitress Stephanie was amazing! Complimentary laundry was a bonus! We loved the morning yoga and massages too. It was the perfect place to relax and take in the views. It was truly a slice of paradise!

“A beautiful week at this hilltop piece of heaven!”

We LOVED our stay at Tierra Magnifica! My husband and I and my mom spent 6 nights at this beautiful, peaceful hilltop sanctuary last week. Everything was perfect, from the moment we were greeted with welcome drinks and appetizers, to our gorgeous rooms with breath-taking views of the jungle and ocean, morning yoga with Ana while being watched by monkeys and iguanas while listening to her beautiful voice, incredible breakfasts, poolside snacks and delicious dinners, shuttles to the beach, relaxing time around the pool enjoying an awesome playlist, massages and our laundry delivered warm from the dryer and folded in a basket each afternoon. All of the staff were highly personable, attentive and professional ( Stephanie, Alexandra, Juan Carlos and his colleague at the concierge, Ana and others). The kayak excursion through the mangroves with our highly enthusiastic and hilarious guide David was fun. We also were blessed to meet the very gracious owner and host, Steve, who was incredibly helpful, kind and generous with his time and attention.
