“Stepping back in time into the luxury jungle bungalow”

It is difficult to describe this place - and yes we enjoyed our stay - but it was not what we expected when booking. It is difficult to describe this place - and yes we enjoyed our stay - but it was not what we expected when booking. So if you book it you could either like it or you are disappointed because it is not what you thought it is. My best description is think about that once someone built a beautiful complex in the jungle and you are now like coming back in time to this jungle place. If you are already in the area you know that there are only gravel roads 20 km in each direction - it takes you around 10 Min to Playa Ostienal (by the way there is a great restaurant Las Tortugas). the main building has still the set up of the old restaurant: but the restaurant is not in use anymore, but you can sit at the tables - Remember wifi is only up at the main building. The bungalow we had was at the very bottom : that means not only walkways but 4 sets of stairs - some of the boards were broken and the stairs not all uniform: you need to bring a flashlight if you walk after dark. We did got a key to the bungalow: but we were not able to lock any doors - the doors are so bend from the heat and moisture that physically you are not able to lock. Our bungalow had a kitchen with an upstairs room of 2 beds: in the kitchen we had 2 not working mini fridges and a working fridge/freezer (there was another non working fridge behind the bungalow. As well besides the built in 2-burner stove we had 2 separate 2 burner stoves (not sure if they worked - we didn't use them). We were told that we can have coffee up at the main building, but didn't want to walk that far up - so we used the coffee machine in the kitchen (if you have your own coffee - next Supermarket is in Playa Ostienal). The kitchen has beautiful large windows opening on the covered porch: there you can sit in the morning and evening listening to jungle noise or see some animals - it is very relaxing and amazing. From the outside porch you have a walk along the place and enter you bathroom from there: no hot water, the next doors from the outside is the main bedroom. With air conditioner or ceiling fan. There was even a shortcut little door from the main bed room to the bathroom. The whole place was beautiful done like an old luxury place - and you are stepping back in time to enjoy it for a cheaper price. As well when we arrived and told him that we have a reservation via Airbnb he was not really aware but told us he has one room, he also asked if we have to pay because he didn't know if we paid. Remember: it is a great place but you do have to consider it is like stepping back in time and enjoy it. Yes we had an ant path through our bath room, the windows were not really clean. But you have fresh linen, fresh towels, you can use the shower and you can feel to be in the jungle. If you like this - then you will love this place - if you want super clean, then this is not the place for you. We enjoyed our stay here and recommend you to do it too and be in the middle of nature.
